Misfortunes of Smart Wifi and Smart Bro Customers
I’ve been researching about canopy antenna if it support the PoE and I could not find a complete information if this antenna does support PoE. I am planning to put a wireless router/switch that support PoE (PS) so that I will not be using the power supply that comes with the canopy antenna.
Anyone knows the model of canopy antenna we are using now?
Anyone has the info for this?
To give you an idea.

PoE n sya dba kasi yung Power nya dumadaan don sa Cat5
Yes, but the problem is I dont know if the canopy antenna supplied by smart is using the standard PoE (802.3af).
Do you have the technical specification for this antenna? I wanted to be sure if it is realy supporting the standard PoE.
*** ETO sagot ng MOTOROLA ***
I called their 24/7 tecnical support they have conformed that Canopy uses proprietary PoE but when I ask the gey if I can use a PoE of other vendor he said you can use it but Motorola does not guaranty that it will work.. hmmm
For those who need tech advice on their canopy antenna you can contact motorola see email address below.. ehehe at kung gusto nyu tawagan pwede rin.. hehehe

Fernits,
No, Canopy uses a proprietary PoE protocol.

Ah yun pla balak mo gawin

or pde gumamit ng kahit ano n switch.
Pde b magkahalo or dapat same voltage requirements yung devices
Yes, dapat pareho ang voltage.
Dalawa kasi ang clasipikasyon ng PoE.
Power sourcing and powered deiviced, so yung switch will be the power sourcing and yung antenna mo or yung wireless router will be the powered deviced.
Unlike ng Canopy which is a proprietary so di mo siya pwede gamitin sa ibang PoE.

tama si fernits, motorola has its own standard….even there radio units (access points and “clients”) dapat parehong motorola….and i believe even there 2.4 GHz radios….
