Misfortunes of Smart Wifi and Smart Bro Customers
I’m extremely happy with the service now. But honestly, I’ve had problems with SMART Wi-fi as early as day 1 (end of January) but after almost 3 months of complaining and/or troubleshooting with them (relaunch into SMART BRO), naayos din sa wakas.
FYI: kahit malakas na hangin ng bagyo (Glenda and the one before that), walang pa rin interruption sa service nila. Galeng!

you know what good for you, but if pldt wired dsl i can’t be shared i’ll look elsewhere, not smart bro, like skydsl (which offers 256 kbps for 900 (i think 128 palang at that time) woth sod of 512 KBps from 10 pm to 10 am. hehe
or globe na from 384 KBps ngayon 512kbps na for 995 lang so cheap! pero sa piling quezon city areas lang kasi.

I am a subscriber of Smart WiFi. I bought a DLink router 5 ports. I have 3 computers attached to the router. My problem is i we can not use the other computer for internet if the the other computer computer is using it. Is is posible to use an internet with one account and 3 computers with a DLink Router.
Yes its possible to use 1 router and 1 or more PC connected to access the net. I have a wireless router so i can use my laptop/s and desktop pc to share internet connection. Kahit kapitbahay ko na may wireless notebook nakaconnect din.
Change mo yung setting ng router mo as a gateway.
Yes, PC networking or use of multiple PC in a single Broadband or DSL account is possible through the use of whether wired router of wireless router.
DLink Router 5 ports??? baka 4ports!!! (ok nevermind)
Whatever the brand of your router unless depective, if properly configured, it should work properly, and all the PC connected to it should as well have an internet access.
5 port kasi yung 1 port is reserved for the WAN and the other 4 port para sa LAN mo…. =) tama b steve_garcia29?

tulong pls… configure ko FTP server using winXP SP2 IIS, tapos port forward ko port 21 with my MSI RG60G router, problem is: i can’t connect to my server pag try ko sa ibang location, is smartbro blocking port 21? if yes, how can i solve this? tnx
@renz811
also using smartbro.. and i also tried creating an ftp server.. but it cant be accessed from the outside using the public ip.. i later found out that there is only one public ip in a given area kasi users are behind a nat.

Yes you can. The point is don’t clone the MAC. Just leave the router’s MAC default or else smartbro will use the MAC of the cloned PC’s MAC which will cause the other PC’s to fight over access instead of sharing. (unless you plan to set one of the PC to be the DHCP server).
So let smartbro use the router’s MAC, enable DHCP and set the scope to cover the dynamically assigned IPs of your PCs. Say from 192.168.0.2-100. Set both PC’s to obtain automatically IPs.
That’s it! happy surfing.
