you have to call tech support to request that.
your hardware address is locked, without they do something on their access database, you have no way to change.
however, just an advice, i am connecting a base station 0.6 miles far from me, rssi500-550, jitter, about 4-9.
and i can download files from other users on the same base staion at a speed about 800kbs-1200kbs.
but my access to internet is only about 200-300kbs, due to the heavy load and poor config of their routing system.
you can try to access your ‘neighber pc’ to see if it is really need to change base station. in most cases, the slooooow problem are not caused by the link to the basestation.
sir daniel how can you dload files from users of thesame base station? i myself is just 0.24 miles from the station with a rssi value of 1100-1300, jitter 1-3. yet my dload speeds are slow at about 10kBps (not “kbps”) using utorrent or limewire.
well if your using a canopy antenna..you can access it by going to http://169.254.1.1 you can see the antenna configuration and change your base station. Now regardless of basestation its really a matter of available bandwith how fast you can really download. I think SmartBro-ken is already over subscribe.
You also cant connect directly using p2p coz of NAT of smart..
you can access your antenna (canopy or sendfar – kung meron pa nito) but that’s all you can do. each access point (for canopy) has their own code which you don’t know.
daniel is right. you have to call tech support for your request.
I think your wrong to say that you cant change your base station, I always change my base station without requesting Tech support. I just change my canopy settings.
sir flxrms how can i change my base station? im pissed wtih the internet service already..wala pakong 30 days using bro-ken and the service stinks like moist shit.. esp at night no damn internet dial up pa rin the best..
*although ok naman downloads and connection NAWAWALA lng talaga
same here… i had smart bro installed last july 8 and up to now hindi pa ako nakaka kuha ng matinong signal na naglast kahit 30 mins lang… lagi siya nag flufluctuate… magkakaroon ng matinong ping statistics for about 2 mins tapos mawawala… tapos magkakaroon ulit… laging ganun… so i have no luck in playing any online games… downloading torrents… etc… calling the technical support is useless (parang may binabasa lang silang procedure tapos sa huli either sasabihin lang sayo to monitor the connection or may maintenance activity sa base station)…
sir flxrms… baka pwede namang magpaturo how to configure the canopy without requesting from the tech support… thanks!
sir flxrms baka naman color code lang ang napapalitan mo pero hindi base station…..
as far as i know a certain base station is compose of 6 to 8 Canopy access Point na nakapaikot sa isang base station. magkakaiba ang configuration ng bawat AP na ito they called it Color Code… you better configured your SU sa Color code na nakaharap sa location mo para malakas ang signal.
Given the chance na ma-access mo ang SU Canopy mo pede mo change the color code within the same base station without redirecting ur connection to Smartbro portal.
If ever u change the color code from other Base Station your connection will temporarily De-activated and rehoming is needed by calling Smartbro contractors hotline but note only qualified installer can rehomed ur connection kasi may mga codes sila para entertain cla ng Smartbro Tech Support.
Can anybody help me? I want to have my own ftp but it seems smartbro has a dynamic IP and I heard that other users can’t access my ftp site if I’m using a dynamic IP, it should be static IP.
The problem is, I called the their hotline but as one of you said, they don’t know anything. Don’t even know what is port forwarding means, because I have a router at home and I want to forward all incoming connection to my IP.
unfortunately guys, NOT all Smart cell sites function as base stations for internet connection. there are cell sites which are dedicated to both cellphone communications and internet connection and there are also cell sites which are dedicated ONLY to cellphone communications. the latter outnumbers the former. you can tell more or less if a cell site has both functions (cell communications and internet service): it is USUALLY huge and tall, it usually rises from the ground and not from a roof, it usually has 4 or more drum-like devices attached to them, and it usually has some sort of a ‘control room’ next to it. again i say ‘usually’ since the above mentioned observations may not be 100 percent accurate 100 percent of the time. so before you change your canopy’s ‘direction’ to the newly-built cell site nearer you, check it out first
I tried changing my base station. Unfortunately I couldn’t pass through. My reactivation failed this time. Base on my ip link capacity test (it’s in the canopy configuration tab if you ever get to config your canopy using the steps somewhere in some forums) my download percent i dont really know what it is is about 90% but my upload is not stable changing from 70% – 80% I’m thinking this might be a big factor about why I am having a bad connection. Back to the topic where I manage to change my base station upon testing it… (it’s like twisting your canopy and changing some color codes) i got a good result where the download percent is 95% – 97% and upload percent 95 – 100% well i’m just thinking if I can connect with this base station I discovered (from long time searching) I might have a better connection than what I have now. I tried to call the tech support about maybe they can unlock me so I can connect but they are always having some reasons like the device they are using to check my account is under maintenance… for about 1 year from now thats the same thing I am hearing from them with lots of reference report numbers they have given me. 1 thing can they be able to let me pass through? What should I tell them so I can pas through. I just got a failed reactivation message. If I can pass through it things will be better….
The color codes are for smartbro base stations nearest your place. And each base station has a max of 6 canopy’s or so called “sectorID” na nakapaikot sa base stations. So if you change your color codes it is basically changing your base station. Less Jitter is best.
