Misfortunes of Smart Wifi and Smart Bro Customers
Hi all,
In order for us to pressure SMART management to act on all our Disconnect problems, please log your calls by calling *1888 on your cp , 672 7277 on Manila landline or use Toll Free 1800-10-672 7277 when you are outside Manila and pls. don’t forget to get the SERVICE CALL NUMBER (SCN) from the tech support. Make a list for your selves, include, time/date of call and the SCN. This way SMART will have records of all our problems and top management will do something about this.
Then send a complaint letter to
cc : customercare@smart.com.ph .
I’m already sick and tired of the disconnect problems I am encountering …if you can ping 192.168.224.1 and 10.0.0.1 but can’t ping 203.87.128.3 (DNS server) this is a SMART problem and not your unit, don’t waste your time in the t-shooting BS! Just inform tech support about the ping result and create a SCN.
Hope we can all wakeup to this internet service nightmare!

I am veteran of these ‘customer support’ problems and have my share of hell with these w***the**** tech support and same **&%^%$##@$ service.
Well what I do as a baseline to first check the service is:
BTW YOU NEED TO GET SCREEN CAPS AND LOG THE OUTPUT (COPY/PASTE TO EITHER WORD/WORDPAD) – this is your log supporting the customer complaint.
1. upon powering up the PC and SM, on the CLI (DOS prompt) do an ‘ipconfig /all’ – check if you have got an IP address from SMART Bro’s DHCP server.
- notice it always will start with 192.x.x.x
- notice the default gateway is always 192.168.224.1
- notice the domain is ‘meridiantelekoms.com’
2.PING the following:
2.1. 192.168.224.1 – This is the ‘gateway’ of your SM…basically the IP address of your subscriber unit. If this is responding to your ‘pings’ connectivity between your AP and SM is present. By the way, there may be multiple APs (Access Points) per BTS..
2.2. 10.0.0.1 – Wonder why they want you to ping this? This address is used for management of the BTS to where your SM is homed. If this is reachable, then there is no problem with your antenna nor the BTS. This address is located in the device (bandwidth manager/allocater?) which ‘manages’ (i.e. shares) the available bandwidth of the WAN/transmission link to all the SMs/subscribers currently homed to that BTS.
If you are able to ping your gateway and the BTS loopback, then your wireless connection is OK. The problem lies within SMART’s network:
3. type ‘nslookup ‘. You can use nslookup http://www.yahoo.com or http://www.google.com as these are the most accessible DNS servers out there.
If you get this result:

Try to ping them all and log the response.
CALLING CUSTOMER SUPPORT:
Well these guys won’t be able to help you anyway as you have done the basic troubleshooting of the connection. So might as well do the following:
1. Log the time of the call
2. Get the full name of the CSR/agent and his/her supervisor
3. Describe the problems you found (summary – your DNS servers are not responding – this makes it quick)
4. Immediately ask for the service request/trace number
Using the information, email customercare@smart.com.ph, ntc@ntc.gov.ph, and DitaMaralit@dti.gov.ph. Attach your screen caps and logs. Always have supporting logs – they make your complaint weighty and sends the signal ‘this is a customer not to be trifled with’.

on 2.1 I said:

I thought I was alone or my problem with my SMART WIFI connection is an isolated case but wowwww…..There are so many subscribers are experiencing the same dilema, frustrations, hassles and etc. The reason why I subscribe to fucking SMART BITCH WIFI to make my life easier in terms of my internet connection but what I am experiencing right now is FULL OF MISERY, DISMAY, DECEPTION and ANGER. I am paying in full and on time with my subcriptions and then SMART IS ONLY GIVING ME A FUCKING 56kbps and lower connection. I don’t consider their 128KBPS connection is because its always fucking slow, its always down and the connection is so unstable or unpredictable. To add more spice with the services that they are giving to us… SMART WIFI CUSTOMER SERVICES SUCKS BIG TIME. SMART WIFI customer services representatives don’t know what they are doing all they know is to remove the adaptor to reset the connection, release and renew IP address, restart the computer. Up to 384 Kbps?…I know that this is a loophole. but we forget that the ads also state that its “7X faster that dial up” now if thats not a smoking gun I dont know what is. they were implying that its really that fast. but shouldnt we atleast get 384kbps once in a while? not 1x or 3x faster than dial-up.

1. I called your *1888 and every time they get my mobile number & Service Reference Number, operator suddenly not responding anymore and I kept calling for more than 10X but all the same, they get my info and OPERATOR IS GONE AND NOBODY FROM THE OPERATORS TOOK THE INITIATIVE OF CALLING ME BACK.
2. Its very hard to contact your support centre, it took me more than 10X to call and listen for more than 20minutes of your music each call and still end up of nothing.
3. it took me to select “#1 apply new plan” option on your answering machine to be able to talk to someone
4. “#4 technical support” option is not answering
5. According to your agent, my problem of “YOU HAVE REACHED YOUR BANDWIDTH LIMIT” is only applicable to 799 plan, then how did I get that message?
6. According to your agent, I should be getting 380+ kbps bandwidth, then how come I’m only getting 40 to 91 kbps?
7. I was still able to use my internet even only 91 kbps during my first email, how come the next day my login & password is no longer valid?
8. I tried to use your Smart Fix but when entering my Service Reference Number it yielded to Invalid SRN?

I would like to know the status of my complain regarding my bill for the period of Aug 15 – September 15, 2009.
I have a P1800 plan and I was billed totalling an amount of P5230.01. I got a lot of browsing subscription that appear on my statement of account. I would like also to inform you that during those days that my cellphone is in the Service in your authorized Service center in Makati, I noticed that the browsing still continuous and my charge to my account. I may have done some browsing but I won’t use a cellphone to browse for that long period.
I have filed complain but up to now I still not get an answer. I might be out of the country next week so I want to know the answer.

last july09 and july10 2011. ngload po ako ng total of 40 dollars para magamit ko ng mas matagal to text sa p.i.eh ang nangyari 20 dollars lng po ang aking nagamit. sabi nla every time i txt is 20 pesos. so dapat pag ngload ako ng 40 dollars dapat makapagtxt ako ng 50times kc nga 40dollars ung niload ko sa roaming ko. bkit ganun ang nangyari sa serbisyo nyo. saan napunta yong niload kong other 20 dollars. ano po ang ggwin ko sayang nman yong niload kong 20dollars.alam kong dko nagamit lhat dhil hindi binubura everytime i txt sa p.i.
