Isulong SEOPH is the very first SEO contest in the Philippines.

Since this blog was registered April this year, it’s a legitimate entry although we have not actually registered as an official entry. We’ll see how a relatively old (in the 2006 context) domain coupled with a country code Top Level Domain can muster enough juice to rank well in the SERPS for the term isulong seoph.

The rest they say is all about who can get as many high-value backlinks to the site, even if it doesn’t have the keywords in the anchor text. Remember that if a huge percentage of your backlinks have similar anchor text, it could trigger some flags.

Another premise is that the sites linking back to your domain should have been linking to it long before the contest. Older links are still better than fresh ones even if the newer ones have the correct texts.

I wonder if anyone out there is hiding some really high PR sites to link back to their entries. Pretty hard to get a PR7 around, much morea PR8 or higher. So far, it looks like only a couple of people have PR6 arsenals at their disposal. I’m also seeing people posting in .GOV forums and another one setting up a subdomain on a .EDU. Pretty neat.
