I could use some help in using RealVNC with the SmartBro internet provider. I want to remotely control my XP computer from one city to the other here in the Philippines. I use RealVNC as my remote desktop program. From what I've been googling I don't have to use the portforward.com site because I don't have a wireless router like a Linksys WRT-54G. I am not sure what kind of topology smartbro uses. I'm guessing I have a direct connection to the internet. If someone knows please inform me. I have only been succesful once in remotely connecting to my neighbors house using RealVNC. We have the same IP address, example: 205.222.142.511. Couldn't connect using 205.222.142.511:5900 or 5800, but when I tried the number the RealVNC server gave me when I hovered my mouse over the system tray icon, example: 192.168.143.111 and adding ":5900" it worked successfully. I like to remotely control my other computer in another city, but it has a different IP address example: 126.90.253.2. I've failed miserably trying to connect using ":59000 and :5800". I already have a DynDNS.com account and set up the hosts and the updater on both computers. What can I do? I've already tried using the DynDNS.com hostnames and that didn't work either in RealVNC. How do I enter the address & port it in the RealVNC viewer box with those IP's or do I have to enter it like this, example: 205.222.142.511/192.168.143.111:5900? Please help. Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you in advance. :)
