   mayb your saying that kasi hindi mo pa na-experience yung totoong Smart WIFI/Bro service. Siguro matitino at may-alam mga agents/tech dyan sa location mo. Have you been experience na ma-disconnect for over a week? Or a connection which is amazingly 30-50Kbps everyday? Maybe not…. Swerte mo naman if ganyan yung situation mo… So, how can u tell people to chill out? U dont have any idea how frustrating it is… So better start finding subscribers na kagaya mo and compare it to all Smart WIFI/BRO subscribers. You’ll get lucky if can count 10% of the total subscribers na happy with thier connection.. Gets mo?

   Or… Maybe…. U got paid by the company to post this message to better enhance/extend thier excellent marketing strategy na puro nman kasinungalingan..

   1st week - 3rd week after installation namin ng SMARTBRO= ok ung connection mabilis

   4th week - 5th week = grabe ang panget tlga ng SmartBRO, para ata akong na SCAM sa sobrang inis ko dahil ang bagal, at lagi down

   after 5th week = OMG! waaa! biglang smooth ung connection ko. nde na ako nagkakaron ng downtimes, tapos ung download speed ko laging 40kb-60kb per second.
   (though sometimes bumabagal at least nde grabe)

   masaya na ako ngayon sa SMARTBRO

   When the connection is ok, I can download over 1 GB per overnight (10 hours). That is 100 MB per hour. So right now, it’s fine but there was a time not too long ago,, I cound’t download shit!!!

   If I were using this for surfing of chat of webcam, I would really be pissed but Im using this for download so I am not pissed now. I understand all the pissed out guys there.

   Bad news is there is nothing we can do about it. hehe

   just yesterday smart bro is giving away free tickets to Superman screening for smart bro subscribers. gulat ako when their agent from the wireless center called me. yun nga lang, good for one day lang (yesterday) tapos last full show lang ang screening time. ok na tipid na rin yon…

   its the wireless center in Zamboanga City, I dont know kung sa lahat ng subscribers nationwide…

   My apologies if I hurt your feelings guys. I understand how you feel. Before naman frustrated din ako. But I gave the company and the service a chance to prove their worth. And I got it.

   Just for the record, I have posted “the happy bro” based on what I feel and what I undertstand and that is my own thoughts and opinion. Nobody influenced me to do it.

   Anyway, as I have mentioned, there may be locations that still the improvement of signal is still on going. As such you can really expect downtime or intermittent connections.

   And during those occasions, kanino natin na-escalate yung problem? Kase ako, I would always report intermittent or downtime, so that they can always take note of the concerns. The resolution may not be immediate, but I am sure they are acting on it. Ako pa! eh i am always exercising my being “a customer”. Kahit ano pang customer oriented companies - fastfood, banks, utility companies, I always make sure I tell them what I feel. And gladly, I am able to get positive responses.

   Again in Paco, Pandacan & Sta.Ana areas, we are happy. Why “we”? Because my bro-in-law is also using Bro. My other friend is also using Bro.. They have intermittent connections at times, BUT OVERALL - satisfied.

   By the way, it would help also that you have a high hardware capacity..
   I recently upgraded to 512MB RAM and 2 HDD - 40GB and 80GB.
   Especially when i am dowloading movie files, it helps if you have a bigger cache.
   Browsing, you must have anti-pop-up. Also I am using FIREFOX. Mabilis na browser..
   For downloads (P2P), I am using BearShare.
   My Anti-virus is McAfee.

   I wanna help. and lets help each other..
   Befor naman novice din ako.. But with the help of internet, may alam na rin ako kahit papano.

   @alvin, it will help on loading softwares and apps on your computer but upgrading your hardware doesnt affect the speed of your internet… it just speeds things up, you know less loading times..

   anyways good for you! ako i’m just waiting for my contract to expire so that i can switch to either bayantel or globe (kung magkakaroon dito sa cubao, kasi 995 /month for 512 KBps)

   Yah!!! I agree with vance… Even if you got a minimum/lower specs computer, that doesnt affect ur connection bandwidth. Sa internet cafe nga ng kaibigan ko eh pentium 400MHz lang gamit nila lahat and they really have a speed according to what they subscribe (350-384 Kbps, cable21.net). And take note, they only have a 192MB SDRAM and a 20GB of hardrive. So, i dont belive na if u got a lower specs PC mababa din yung internet connection speed na makukuha mo. Yung lang hiyang Smart lang talaga ang may problema.

   By the way, location ko is here in CDO(Cagayan de Oro). Please post ur location if u comment..

    With regards sa signal… sobrang lapit lang namin sa cell site na parang kabilang bahay lang. Im not joking! Ganon kami ka lapit sa cell site ng smart. Signal naman sa smart cell ko ay maximum bars. BUT yung service ng smart BRO ay sobrang panget!

    first 3 months ok yung connection then after that disaster na! sobrang nag i-intermittent yung connection! ngayon last month na namin sa contract eh biglang nag “improve” (but still slow and nag intermittent) yung connection! wow… cguro alam nila na lilipat na kami sa bayantel… buti na lang nalaman ko na pde mag subscribe sa bayantel maski wala kang bayantel landline at yung dsl connection lang yung babayarin mo pag nag pakabit ka

    taga Fairview Quezon City pala ako

    Hi. Astig ng specs mo ha.. Hope to have that kind of video card.. And also that “Super Multi DVD Writer”, wew… Have you heard about Plextor products? They said it got superb performance when dealing with CD/DVD burning…
    Anyway, san mo pala nakuha yang windows vista mo? Have u just download it as torrent using Smart WIFI? or from another source?

    @lempacks, my setup is quite old and slow, kung wala lang akng thesis eh upgrade ako to pentium d, cheap eh for a pentium procesor, kaso i have to switch to pci-e vga and the card i’m using is quite old na rin ag baba na nga nag price compared sa GT version nito.. oh wellbasta gumagana pa to ok pa hehe.

    yung windows vista beta 2 ko is licensed beta copy hehe, i just register sa microsoft then yun may free license code na ako.. but closed na ang public testing na reach na ng microsoft yung maximum allowed testers…

    plextor are the best brand for cd drives in the market, yung akin cheap lang harhar..

    @lempacks, sorry forgot to answer that, i downloded it from microsoft including office 2007 beta 2…

    @kakaroto, I have questions: 1.) when will are sufferings end? 2.) how come my jitter keeps running from 2-6? and the contractors will say the basestation is dead 3.) after the contractors switch me to a better basestation, it still runs from 2-6 but i have a higher rssi nasa 1300+, i only enjoyed that for 2 days afterwards ang bagal na pag umaga, it seems like im using bayantel’s SOD scheme, kaso ito dial up sa umaga then SOD to 256 KBps sa gabi.

    well another misconception, bayantel and globe doesnt require you to have a phoneline. just get the data package and yung lang babayaran mo, bayantel 900 or globe 1500 (995 for gentxt promo). This i don’t know why pldt can’t do! if bayantel and globe doesn’t require why should pldt ask for one.

    Kung d kayo makaasa sa smart at sa mga installers
    at alam nyo mag palit ng settings. Try nyo n lang adjust yung antenna hanap n lang kayo pde tumulong sa inyo. Hanapin nyo don sa 360 degrees kung san pinaka maganda itutok yung antenna.
    Alam ko mabubusisi at mahabang free time din ang kailangan na gugugulin nyo kaka adjust at mahirap lalo na pag nag-iisa k lang (hirap panik baba ng bubong) pero kung makukuha nyo best AP malaki magiging improvement sa connection nyo at sulit dn yung hirap.

    Zamboanga City me.. Bulok ang Smart Bro dito dahil karamihan problema sa signal. Smart still continues to receive clients kahit walang reasurrance na ok talaga service nila.. Kahit walang line of site kabit pa rin ang bulok na antenna nyo! “Smart” Offer nyo na lang ng service yung mga nakatira malapit and makikita lang ang Tower! Bulok… Bagay lang nag joint kayo sa PLDT which is Bulok rin… May DSL service naman pero wala na mang available dito sa Zamboanga City.. Walang PORT… walang port… walang available.. sorry Sir/maam try nyo na lang Smart Bro Bulok!!!

    @ PLDT Zamboanga City: Hala ka! almost 2 years na yan problema nyo about port sa internet hangang ngayon wala pa ba?

    @ Smart Bro: Wag na kayong tumangap mga customer na hindi malapit sa line of site ng Smart Tower nyo… niloloko nyo lang sila… kung gusto nyo ipatayo nyo ng mga bagong tower cellsite sa bawat barangay… Take for Example dito sa Tetuan!     Ok that is my specs. . tama ung sinasabi nyo na eventhough you are having a extreme desktop or slow desktop computer. . doesn’t affect your bandwidth. . .ur right. . kaso meron din naman kahit papano. . naitutulong kung mabilis din ang pc mo, then having broadband connection(smartbro). as you said guys kung choppy na nga ang net. . mabagal pa ang performance ng PC or having(many background services, virus etc. . . ) you will not enjoy tlga using smartbro lalo na if you are experiencing down connection. . pero pag tuloy tuloy rocks!. . ako im proud to say na nag daan din naman ako sa pagiging mabagal ang net ko. . almost half a month akong naperwisyo. . as a (Web Designer, CEH and Programmer) hindi talga ko dapat mawalan ng net kasi ayoko rin. . kelangan eh. . halos maupod na nga daliri ko kakatawag sa hotline. kakafollow-up. until un nga dumating mga tech men pero i know naman wala ring matutulong. . because it’s true they are incompetent. di nila alam kung ano ano ba ung mga nasa canopy. so ginawa ko pinagpasensyahan ko lang. . binigyan ko ng chance ang smart. . ok ganyan ganyn. . etc etc. . at un so until now never na kong na dc i have a good connection using smart bro. well. . . di ko masisisi ung ibang subscriber ng smartbro because their encountering poor connection. . . alam nyo mga pre. . . ganito if you are really mad using smart. . pede nyo namang i pa tanggal yan after a year you have a choice. .pero eto bibigyan ko kayo ng idea. . if you are planning to have a globelines tingin ko parang smartbro din kakalabasan nyo believe me. . or kung pldt dsl, digitel or even bayantel. . hmmm. . . medjo choppy din partida na un wire cable pa un kaso choppy paren hehe. . .sad to say pero medjo mas konting nakakatuwa pa ang smart kasi wireless. . and imagine you are transferring data thru space??? db?. . kasi dito sa pinas di pa uso ang WiMax eh. . cguro un pag nagkaron dito nun. . masasatisfy na kayo. . haha! or pagaralan nyong maige yang canopy nyo. . and learn the basic troubleshoot pag nawalan kayo ng net. . . cause ryt now youre having a very cool stuff sa bubong nyo un ung antenna nyo. . marai kayong magagawa jan. . . kaya mga pre cheer up! wag kayo masyado mainet. . . isipin nyo rin ung mga positive side na naitutulong sa inyo ng smart. . . ok? so enjoy life! ~cheers~

    hi guys… finally I figured out how to test my speed. eto ang specs ko (bottom part). Im from Angeles City, medyo kya last year wala akong choice kungdi mag SmartBro, ok naman connection, pero minsan lng tlaga, bumabagal. Cguro nga dahil sabi nila Wireless… hindi stable. pero so far OK naman ako. May question nga lang ako, I hope anyone can share anything about Cable Internet, ano pagkakaiba nun sa smart bro? ksi when I tested my speed, parang mas mabilis ata ang specs ng cable internet compared sa iba. Do you think that’s a better option? May cable internet na rin ksi sa amin eh… and Im done with my 1 year with SmartBro, do you think you should switch given this option?     I generally had downloads from 30 -42KB with torrents… it will occasionally spike… medyo sad for getting a private IP and blocked email port.

    then came FEB 14 2007, smartbro gave me some luvin.
    it upgraded me from the regular deal to WR512 ata yun.

    BAMMMMM!!! downloading @ 50 - 60KB while uploading at 55KB at the same time. Hanep!!!! almost max bandwith.

    it has been like this ever since, i read a lot of horror stories in forums (im in cebu)… but i guess im one of the luckier ones. Pag enough seeds/peers = my 24hr smartbro download day can do 4GB a day. its really sweet…

    can anybody here tell me how will i know if im getting the best signal for my antenna if ill turn it?

    i need help kc jitter ko is always 3-5 and rssi is between 418-470+ lng anytime of the day. my air delay is 0.32miles(1715 feet).

    i already tweaked the QoS to 500/500 but i still get those timeouts. i always play online games and its really frustrating when at the middle of something big in the game bigla n lng timeout sunod-sunod sa ping, stop lahat sa screen then disconnected na sa server.

    i know there are many things that could affect a wireless connection pero if i can, i want to have the best of my connection thats why i need help about that canopy.

    usually i get a DL speed of no more than 20kbps, swerte minsan nakaka 40+ ako pero chambahan dpnde rin naman kc sa location ng host eh. kakakabit lng din skn ng smart and my first 5days really suck! laging walang connection, mas marami ung timeout kesa sa ping reply, kinulit ko lng ang smart nag email ako then tumawag sa center nila and kinabukasan dumating sila d2 pinalitan ung canopy. mas maayos ng onti ung connection pero frequent pa rin ung timeouts.

    so pls. if anybody here knows something about this canopy thing, would mind letting us know some info about tweaking it and maximizing its capacity?

    anyways i also got intermittent connections, this time bumili na ako ng mahabang tubo at ipa2lgay ko na sa tower ng dating tv antenna namin. i hope this works…it’s gonna be 50ft this time, if this doesn’t work then all is lost…

    anyways in fairness to the technicians, minsan nkakwen2han ko ung mga contractor na ngrepair d2 sakin. sbi nila sweldo nila P1,200/kinsenas. true daw na di sila nkatapos pero talagang na-train daw sila ng husto( i beliv these particular guys coz dey rili know wat dey’r doing). i think the ones at fault here are both smart and the contractors(the bossess, not the tech guys), they take advantage of undergrads who have very little choices. kaya nga cguro ganyan ang service dahil di pros ang kinukuha saka syempre dahil underpayed at overworked yung mga tao, nawa2la na ung drive nila na gumawa ng maayos….

    Smartbroke doesn’t upgrade because they don’t have enough bandwidth to go around as it is. In fact, they are currently “reallocating” bandwidth at all their base stations, in other words throttling down to even lower limits per subscriber. They do this to try to fit even more subscribers.
    My smartbroke has not worked now for over 37 days. I have been in contact with supervisors, engineers and “2nd level” support who all promised I would be fixed long ago. The only reason they let me speak to the higher levels is because I threatened to file a report with the NTC. They HATE the NTC cuz so many complaints have already been made through the government about smartbroke.
    Now, I only call every day to get a service report number so when I apply for my rebate for the 37+ days they can’t deny me.
    The only reasons smartbroke has not fixed our NAT here is because they don’t know what is wrong, or they know what is wrong but it is very expensive to fix. We are in the province, so only 25 subscribers are connected here. They could close the NAT here and not suffer any big loss. I think they just don’t want to spend the money on us, and they don’t care if I disconnect.
    As for that “1 year contract” they have with you, the contract is only good if they keep their side of the deal. They are in breach of contract with me and I told them that if I want to quit, I will not pay the “early termination fee” because the NTC will intervene when I report them
    Good luck to you. My advice is to NOT subscribe to smartbro in the first place, either get DSL or use a dialup because most times I only have a dialup speed anyway and it costs so much more with smartbroke

    though 384kbps lang, na 999 ang price, fair lang un sa service na nakukuha ko. Napakastable ng connection ko.. bihira lang mag down.. kung magddown man, dahil sa server maintenance ng base. other than that, wala naman msyadong aberya.
    disadvantage lang eh madalas walang connection kapag umuulan.

    i’m getting the advertised speed of 384kbps.
    reaching 40-50kbps direct http download,
    reaching 30-60kbps sa torrent,
    latency na 120-172ms when testing sa singapore server ng speedtest.net,
    walang lag sa paglalaro ng online gaming,
    at mabilis sa imeem… sa youtube ok lang xmpre nagbbufer prin pag peak hours, pag madaling araw hindi na.

    pero after my lock-in period, mag gglobe n ko. kc mas mura. ngaun lang kasi nagkaglobe d2. wala kc pldt d2. digitel nmn bulok.

    ewan ko sa inyong mga hindi stable ang connection. i wonder why.. re-align nyo nlang antenna nyo or lagay sa ibang base.

    1. Although nahirapan ako pag router ng windows 98 OS ko na PC, nagawa nman, I can play Online games using torrent connections such as PATCH, e.i Condition zero and Red Alert , Rakion, Gunbound, Pangya, Flyff, Snipers, Swat, etc.

    nakakapaglaro ako ng ONLINE games with my friends around the country and outside. OO, i mean it napuputol c Smartbro, pero ang alternative na ginagawa ko ay, disable ko c LAN card then Enable, Balik agad c Bro.

    Pinaka fact nung happiness ko ky SmartBro:
    nag oonline ako kasabay ng mga kapatid ko na nag fri-FRIENDSTER at using YOUTUBE.

    Para sa mga Subscribers na gusto mag Smartbro, here are my advice/suggestions pra ma enjoy nyo si Smartbro:

    Regarding sa PC, yung High Specs na gamitin nyo pero kung di pa kya sa BULSA, focus lang muna sa LAN card at Anti Virus. For LAN Card: Lynksis, Intex. Wag yung CNET at Built-in mahina yun (Lousy). For anti Virus, AVG at Antivir worstation install nyo. Kahit anong OS.

    and, pag nagpa install kayo, always ask ky installer ang
    USERNAME at PASSWORD. At i-install yung Smartbro Quick Fix.

    over 2 years na ko smartbro subcriber.. di man perfect service nila i think i get what im paying for. P999/mo almost 24/7 ako naka online.

    basta pagkalat nyo lang na di maganda smartbro para konte lang magsubscribe sa area nyo… para solo nyo bandwidth

    sa mga may problema sa smart pde naman patigil ung service nila,, sabi nila basta di mo magamit ung internet at ma verify nila na wala nga,, ala ka babayaran pero terminated na ata account mo.. never tried it though…

    Smartbro, what could i say, well, smartbro helped people stay connected to the internet without the line…. but line-of- sight..

    my main concern about this is, why during peak hours, the bandwith slows down especially between 9am to 10PM… got 220kilobits/sec download and 128kbps upload… cansmartbro able speed up their service during these times? They should anticipated that there are lot of users, which they must compensate to the demand…..

    i have to stay late at night to download things much faster to save power!!!!

    so ano ngayong kung 80gb na naddownload mo? ako nga puno na ung 120 GB ko na HDD eh! 3months plang aq! pero pahirapan sa download kc PUTOL-PUTOL! wala na bang mas bubulok jan?! at hoy wag ka maxadong maging technical kung wireless ang smart bro! if smart claims to have the most, pati nationwidest coverage, edi dapat ndi bumababa or ndi pahirapan ang signal! haler?!?!!? pati sayang ung pinaghirapan na pera if you’re not getting you money’s worth! mag-isip ka nga!

    1 year na kong subscriber, di perfect ang smart bro pero satisfied naman ako. siguro sa 1 year na to, mga 5 times lang ako nawalan ng connection and tumatagal lang ito ng ilang oras. malala lang nung last na bagyong frank, 1 week akong walang connection pero naiintindihan ko naman yun pati kasi yung phone ko medyo hirap din sa signal nun. ang ayaw ko lang sa smart eh pag tumatawag ka sa cs nila, ang tagal tagal kang pinaghihintay yung tipong 10 mins (or more) sila magpapatugtog para mainip ka na at ibaba mo nalang , tapos ang sagot pa lagi eh “may technical problem sa base station niyo” nung tinanong ko naman “ano” wala din nasasagot. pero all in all, satisfied subscriber ako.

    Hullo kayo dyan… i’m happy with my smartbro ngayon, and i’ve been an active subscriber for almost a year na.

    op kors dumaan din sa hirap, pinagtyagaan kong i-report problems na na-encounter ko, bumagsak din sa 10 kbps at parang yo-yo na taas baba sa umpisa… frequent guest din ako sa wireless centers nila. i get rebates sa problematic dates din, basta reported. ngayon, consistent ang bro service ko, di bumababa ng 200kbps, highest at 510kbps pa nga !!! hindi po ako power-user, pero i know a thing or two. and i’ll probably stay on kahit walang lock-in

    some tips lang:
    - babagal po ng bahagya ang bro pag umuulan, in fact wag nyo na kayang gamitin lalo na kung may kidlat. hey, de-antena yan!
    - i-report nyo lng ang problems nyo, mukhang nakakatulong naman, hindi lang biglaan pero it helps kasi nalalaman nila ang demographics sa area ninyo which may help the rest of subscribers na malalapit din
    - ideally 1 pc = 1 smartbro line, at kung gagamit kayo ng router, talagang babagal po. ang isang sandwich po, pag dalawa ang kakain, tig-kalahati po yun!
    - nakakwentuhan ko mga installers/technicians one time, hey, ang trabaho po nila daw e ayusin ang linya ng bro, hindi ang pc or router nyo! hindi nila kontrata yun! kuha kayo ng techie pag ganun
    - ang alam ko (based on common sense) talagang iba-iba ang strength ng signal depende sa location, hindi lang dahil malapit kayo sa tower, dahil parang may directional orientation ang waves
    - wireless technology ang smartbro, gaya ng signal ng cellphone, TV na de-antenna, at simpleng radyo, meron lugar na wala, mahina at malakas na signal
    - o sige, ayos ang line-of-sight pero bumababa bandwidth sa peak hours? balik tayo sa similar sa sandwich… kung pizza yan na 14″ at apat kayong kakain, then yung isang 14″ pizza na 25 ang kakain, e, sino ang mas busog?

    AKO e2 d mkpg laro ng dota.. kelangan ko pang gumicing ng 1 am ng gbi para mg laro kc lag tlg at sobrang delay.. dont knw why.. im in zamboanga. sana they wont accept anymore clients if d pa cla mg lalagay ng bgong sites or upgrade kc pissed off n kme ng mga friends ko d2.

    not that so fast.. ung fast enough para d kayu mabanas..hehe

    first.. if naoopen nyu ung cannopy configurations nyu.. eto lang ang dapat nyung baguhin..

    click nyu ung 100mbps Full duplex mode..
    2x rate..
    activate priority line….

    if mag AP Scan kau.. makikita nyu ung mga sections na may magkikaibang data.. each section represents a cannopy na nasa tower mismo.. if you want to have faster connection, dpat select nyu ung best cannopy na nakaharap sa inyo..
    panu? eto…

    makikita nyu na may RSSI, Jitter, and power level..
    RSSI = 900+ dapat.. higher is better
    Jitter = maximum of 5, lower is better
    Power level maximum of 60db lower is better
    and mapapansin nyu ung color code..
    kunin nyu ung color code ng section na may pinkamagandang status.
    look for ung space kung san nafifil up ng color code..
    type nyu dun ung color code na napili nyu na may pinakamagandang status..
    tapos reboot.,.

    eto pa.. mas mapapabilis ung connection nyu pag tatanggalin nyu ung Ground wire na nasa lightning suppresor nyu.. ung puting box mula antenna..
