Misfortunes of Smart Wifi and Smart Bro Customers
Are there any work-around on this problem?
I’ve tried to reconfigure our VPN server to lowest encryption level, and still it didn’t work. I’m only using PPTP VPN. And I think the router they are using is not properly configured to route vpn packets or is not capable of routing vpn packets, Residential lines use private IPs and NAT it to public IP, and most of the routers are capable of routing VPN protocols even if using NAT technology.
Or is it really a restrictive service by smart bro T_T. Because of this event, I created an IPSEC VPN connection and test if it will work because the PPTP didn’t. When I checked the log, it always logs that the packets received was malformed and rejects it. Sorry for some technical jargon and thank you for any reply I hope this one works in a residential line… VPN is one of my purpose why I subscribed to smart bro…

Sir/Madam:
Greetings!
This refer to my due date reflected on my billing statement. Billing period covers from December 22, 2007 to January 21, 2008 yet my due is February 2, 2008. I just received the statement on February 4, 2008; your due due date is two days ahead on the date of the billing statement received. I had already referred this to your branch office and they said my due date falls on the 16th day of the month. Please correct my due date as to give me ample time to save an amount for my bill. My mobile number is 09189087073 and account number of 0132687714 with a credit limit of P800.00.
Thank you.
Very truly yours,

we’ve also experience the same thing. can’t connect to vpn via smart bro. why is that? anyone solved this problem?
putanginang smart yan, sa umpisa lang yan, nung time na mabibilang pa lang sa daliri ang mga subscribers. ngayong maraming naloko na napasubscribe, e di nagkaalaman na, na bulok naman talaga! SHAME ON YOU, SMART COMPANY!!!
im not a subscriber to this but i was planning on subscribing it for my wife. was planning to buy her laptop and send it back home dyan sa pinas. i wanted to find out more about the service. so when i logged on to their website…it said “free 40 hours per month”. pero right beneath that (under the blue box where it asks “interested?”), the third line indicated “Anytime, always on, UNLIMITED BROADBAND ACCESS”. i emailed them to clear up those two contradicting statements. you have to love MS Outlook because you can track your messages you send on most corporate domains that use outlook for email. the day after i sent my email, i get a confirmation that my message was read. i looked for a reply in my inbox. but (not) to my surprise…there was no reply. i sent this email two months ago and until now, i have not heard from any of their customer support. i emailed them again not too long after the first time….and this time…i got a tracking message from my outlook that my message WAS DELETED WITHOUT BEING READ!!! based on what i’ve read about this service and the company….these bastards need to get their heads out of their asses. aside from that….on their website….they actually are falsely advertising this service by saying it’s UNLIMITED BROADBAND ACCESS and then contradicting it by saying 40 FREE HOURS PER MONTH!! to make it worse…if a customer asks why they are misinforming the public by false advertising….THE COMPANY ENGAGES IN BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE PRACTICES by not answering inquiries and by deleting inquiries by customers or prospective customers. AND HINDI NILA ALAM….THE PERSON ASKING THE QUESTIONG MAY ACTUALLY BE MORE TECH SAVVY THAN THEY ARE!! yeah…kampeon ang smart/smartbro…..KAMPEON NI SATANAS!!!!
TAMA KA LUNATIC, PERO YUNG 40 HOURS NILA AY YUNG PLUG IT NA PLAN 799, YUNG UNLIMITED (ACTUALLY LIMITED TO 5 MINS LANG) AY YUNG 999 PLAN… SAME HERE PARE, WALANG NAGBABASA NG EMAIL NATIN… BUWAN NA ANG INABOT KO, WALANG REPLY… TSK TSK TSK… SA SENADO DAPAT TO MAPUNTANG HAYUP NA SMART NA TO!

alam ko pwede ka mag vpn bro as long as yung other side sa tunnel ay naka public ip. private ip lang kasi gamit lang residential smartbro, kung i vpn mo parehong private, eh hindi cla maka tunnel.

wala kwenta you really cannot use VPN with smartbro because 1 their IP is shared and 2 our desktops are on dynamic IP
Hi marvin! Is there any way we can change it to static IP? I want to set up my own ftp site, but others can’t log in to it, is this because of this dynamic IP?

I don’t know about that, but we’re using OpenVPN and we don’t have any problems with the connection
TANGINANG SMART BRO YAN> KUPAL YAN TANGNANG MGA SUPPORT NILA GAGAGUHIN KA LANG. BUKAS MAGPPLDT NA KO. KUPAL ANG SMART BRO.
Dissappointing yang smartbro na yan. Di ka makapag setup ngremote desktop (remotelyanywhere), ftp server, vpn server, and others kasi private IP ang bigay nila. Drawback pa yung paputol putol yung signal, kasi daw, yung puno eh lumaki na kaya na block na yung signal. Shame on that reason, kasi it means na pandak yung wireless main station nila.
yes we are behind a private IP. Unless their Main router do something about which is which thats the only time most VPN or FTP services will work.
i dont know about you guys but my IP is always the same (private and public).
Well, actually smartbro really sucks! THAT STUPID PLUG-IT service is not not not EFFECTIVE and thus it corrupts prepaid loads just like on smart prepaids.
They say up to 384kbps???? Fuck it, napakabagal nya! Sinusumpa ko! Wag na kayo bumili, promise!
reactivate your expired smartbro available for 1month 500pesos and for 1year 6000pesos only anywhere in the philippines.

is your router properly forwarding the packets to your internal machines? my experience with some of them is that you have to make them forward them to the proper ports. ymmv.
