Misfortunes of Smart Wifi and Smart Bro Customers
So nag-reklamo ako sa pagkawala ng internet ko. The connection was there but the internet was simply “unreachable”. So tumawag ako sa tech support ng Smartbro. Ang sabi nila… may activity dun sa base station. Ang sabi ko… ano yung activity? walang masabi ang loka. di daw alam. ayan… sabi ko kung gusto nyang malaman kasi kilala ko yung may-ari nung bahay kung saan naka-base ung cellsite nila. Ayun! check ko daw uli after two hours. After two hours… hahaha! ayos na naman ung internet ko. Suuuss!!! kung di mo pa tatakutin…
Nga pala, for those na gustong pabilisin ung smartbro connection. I think nakuha ko na ung configs.
First: Run gpedit.msc (group policy editor). Ingat lang kayo sa paggamit ng tool na to. Walang sisihan.Ung Windows kasi nagreserve ng 20% ng bandwidth para sa ‘personal’ na gamit nito. E kaso, nangangailangan din tayo ng extra pang bandwidth kaya kukunin natin to. Sundan nyo lang to: Local Computer Policy > Administrative Templates > Network > QoS Packet Scheduler > Double-click Limit reservable bandwidth > Enable > Bandwidth limit% set nyo to 0. Tapos click OK. Di na kelangan ng reboot. Ok na yun.
Next: Change nyo yung QoS config ng canopy nyo. Access nyo to through Internet Explorer http://169.254.1.1. Tapos punta kayo sa Configuration > Quality of Service (Qos) Change nyo ung mga settings.

| Downlink Burst Allocation : | 1000 (kbits) (Range: 0 — 1500 kbits) |
Tapos click nyo ung Submit tapos click nyo reboot para ma-save ung changes.
Finally: Test nyo sa http://www.dslreports.com/stest ung speed nyo.
Sa akin nag-shoot ng 400 kbps ung speed ko. Walang problema sa uTorrent.

bro bakit ayaw ma access ang pc ko ung config ng canopy? iam using win xp sp2 (complete updates) and internet explorer 7. if you know the solution to my prob pls email me johnzelix@yahoo.com

Goodday to all SmartBRO subscribers. I have created a step-by-step procedure on how you can DO-IT-YOURSELF your canopy. Whenever you’re disconnected, you can point your canopy to other base station nearby. I have screenshots how to do it. It’s just simple. Just go to the url where the meridian guys always go to.

Bakit iba yung ranges ng data rate & burst allocation mo? Sa akin, 7000 kbps (combined) and 500,000 kbits, respectively.
Sa mga hindi makapasok sa Canopy control panel, you need to change your TCP/IP settings sa SmartBro connection properties. Kelangan niyo i-change from [automatic] to 196.254.0.1 yung IP address niyo. After you make changes to the Canopy control panel, be sure to turn back your TCP/IP settings.
Correction: 169.254.0.1 pala.
ang tamang config ng QOS is 500 500 1500 1500.kya nagkakandaluko luko ng connection nyo ay dahil sa mga palpak na mga installer at mga paki alamerong subs. na katulod nyo!!!!
hay naku bilangin nyo na lng yung reklamo kaysa papuri ibig sabihin katunayan na masa marami ng technical problem in rude term palpak kasi ako sa san jose del monte, bulacan 10 beses na ako nagpapalit ng antenna ganun parin putol putol ang ping at walang connection sa gabi kung kailan gabi na samantalang ang base station ay nandito lang sa 5 bahay ang layo malamang dagdag ng dagdag ng client pero over populated na sa base station puro na lang inaayos isang taon na inaayos… grabeeee….kahit ipa imbestiga nyo pa itong lugar na ito ibibigay ko pa ang saktong address at lugar Sampol Market, Sapang Palay, City of San Jose Del Monte, Bulacan kaisa isa sigurong base station yan nand2 sa amin na panahon pa ata ng kastila hays…
tsong, di ko ma access yang http://169.254.1.1 na yan. lagi request timed out. kala ko lang sa connection pero ive been trying this for a couple of days na pero ayaw pa din… sabi ng friend ko baka daw naka lock yung canopy ko?!

ayus tong info mo BRO hehehe. ang question ko lang is gaano ka kalayo sa base station? baka kc depende rin ito sa distance ng antenna mo sa base station.
