   It’s not the Smart people who’s doing it. It’s the SmartBro subcontractors who trained at meridiantelekoms. Sure it is possible. Connecting to a base station and acquiring its area code or they call it color code is easy as 1,2,3… But manipulating NAT requires a higher level access..

    kayang kaya basta my extra canopy ka. kahit wala k username and password… and canopy kasi basta itinapat mo yan sa BT automatic na mgeestablish yan ng connection ang gagawin lang nung may canopy reset to factory default at hayun may babaguhin ka lang mga part sa canopy url na 196.254.1.1 o sa CNUT basta alam mo ung setting ng canopy na gumagamit ng smartbro halombawa un sa mga kapitbahay nila…

    HELP! I am seeing 8 PCS in my Network - my neighbors.
    1) I am not using a router
    2) My bluetooth is OFF
    3) Wireless is OFF
    4) Network Sharing is OFF
    5) Network is set to PRIVATE
    6) Even when I disable everything else and then restarted and put everything back - I still see my neighbors! I was even able to connect to one of the shared printers.

    I called Customer Service and said they’ll create a report, but I am not confident that they’ll solve my problem.

    I smell something fishy!!!

    mariomasinsin, mag-iingat ka. meron ako kakilala dating smartbro installer ganyan din trabaho kagaya mo. may isang client nakipag-negotiate sa kanya. nang puntahan niya yung client para i-activate at i-reinstall smartbro, may naghihintay pala na mga NBI agents at posas para sa kanya. ayun, multa sya 120,000 pesos, kulong pa siya 2 taon. 6 months ago na nangyari yung entrapment at nakalaboso siya, ngayon malaki na butas ng pwet niya.

    Free Smartbro…sino naman ang may pakana na pwede kang maka connect na libre sa Smartbro..not unless if there is a negligence on the part of the system admin ng smart sa location nyo.
    No matter how you “tinker” or hack your antenna, you’re still at the helm of those sys admin. If they told you your speed is 384kbps, its a BIG lie. Smartbo has downlink data rate of 256kbps and uplink of 128Kbps on technical point of view, pero and tanungin nyu ay ang CIR(committed information rate) base sa plan nyo kasi may mga system loss base sa location nyo(jitterfactor). Kung malayo kayo sa AP(access point) mas malaki jitter which means data integrity from your SM(subscriber module) to the AP is highly compromised. What happens now is that the system will try to resend the data and resending data is simply a data rate reduction.

    The Truth About SmartBro

    I will try to be emphatic here. This is my story and so of others who put their trust to a product they had truly believed in. I’m doing this not to smear a reputable company’s good name but to make the Smart Communications, Inc correct the way they promote their product and stop these misleading advertisements.

    TO WIT:

    Smartbro is the highspeed mobile internet connection.

    Surf up to 7x faster than dial up.

    Nationwidest coverage “Just Plug it” Kahit saan.

    THE TRUTH:

    I bought smartbro but found myself having to wait an average of 30 seconds before a webpage is done in loading up. Thats the time when I decided to really measure the time it takes to just open a webpage and so here they are -
    Yahoo 25 seconds, friendster 40 seconds, msn 40 seconds, flickr 50 seconds.

    There are only selected areas from which I experience fast connection. In most places the connection is
    very very slow.

    I surf mainly to upload pics. Nothing beats flickr.com. Here’s what the smartbro did for me. At flickr I clicked upload pics then chose a pic and I used stopwatch of my cp to record the duration. As soon as I saw the filename of my pic in the corresponding box I clicked Upload Photos button and start the stopwathch all at the same time. It was so slow that I was able to prepare and eat a heavy meal. Finally, I saw 98% at the top bar of the window. I marked the time at 00:29:54:01. A little bit later the top bar read “Processing….”. I marked the time, 00:30:16:20. Yes, it took me 30 minutes to upload a 3.45 mb image using the smartbro modem.

    THEIR REASON:

    Smartbro hotline is *1888. I talked to two different persons with two conflicting response. They both did informed me that the smartbro properly runs only at 3G, a thing first time I heard that they should have mention earlier when I bought the gadget, which brings me to my first question - “Why does Smart Communications does not specify in their ads and information campaign that smartbro will only work fast in 3G?” and to my second question which comes naturally - “Why do the seller at the their branches don’t say anything about this?” I only get G signal in most locations even in the place I live. In 10 places I gone to there are only two locations I got 3G signals. The first person told me that within 24 to 48 hrs the system will work out fine and that I would be getting 3G signal on my place, of course he did get my address first. After he gave me referrence for follow up we hanged up. Two weeks had passsed nothing changed and I called *1888 again. The second person I talked to told me without getting my address that it is for evaluation for whatever he meant he kept telling me “it is for evaluation” “it is for evaluation” and that I have to wait untill my location (where i live) get 3G signal. Does it mean I have to wait endlessly while “they are evaluating” and meanwhile suffer in a very very slow internet connection? Why should I be the one to suffer in lapses very clearly commited by their personnels? I should have not bought this useless gadget if I had known this hidden reality.

    TO SMART COMMUNICATIONS INC., PLEASE EXPLAIN YOUR SIDE. IT IS VERY CLEAR THAT YOU ARE NOT TRUTH IN ADVERTISING YOUR PRODUCTS AND SERVICES. PEOPLE WILL ONLY SHUN YOUR PRODUCTS AS THEY GET TIRED OF THESE VERY ANNOYING INCONVENIENCES.

    Add mo lang AP as network element then yun na yun, hehehe basta alam mo lang IP ng AP mo and dapat within range yung TCP/IP mo.. paano alamin yung IP ng AP? telnet mo canopy mo at dun mo makikita IP ng AP as well as CMM (sa CMM nothing usefull sa atin unless gusto mo reset or shutdown buong AP clusters hehehe), yung router and gateway ngayon naman kinakalikot ko
