eversince you upgraded our antena to canopy our connection is way UNRELIABLE now than before. our connection is on and off everytime. your tech support told us that by upgrading it the connection should be much more reliable, but i proved them wrong. and your technical staff doesn’t know what they’re doing.
I am plan 688 before they said at their promo that the speed will be twice as the speed of dial up but after a month the problem arise they said that there is something blocking the antenna so i have transfer my antenna to some other place so that there would be no destruction but since i am going to transfer it i thought that it would be better to upgrade it from 688 plan to 988 coz i also thought that when i have the 988 plan my speed will get much higher than what i am receiving on 688 plan. bad news it only worsen the situation i am now receiving speed less than 10 kbps. So, sana mga putang lola nila mamatay na pati mga anak nila wag na silang manloko ng mga tao para lang kumita pati installer nila sana mag boycott na baka mapatay sila ng mga taong niloloko ng smart bro
What’s a canopy antenna? I have the rectangular slim antenna, is it the canopy ? Just want to know. Thanks!
Have anybody connected more than one PC in his WIFI connection?

When your link goes down, how would you know if the problem is in your system , in the local SMART system (your antenna, wires, etc.) or in the remote SMART system (base station)
Maybe we should have a standard way of knowing the basic t-shooting before we call the tech support (which I think , from your posts does not know more than we do..)
What do you think?
if you are using the old antenna (sendfar) check the POE, it’s the small off-white box which has one cable from the antenna (outside) and another going to your NIC (lan). there are 3 lights, WLAN, Power and LAN. check and see if the middle light is blinking. if it is then it could be that your equipment is defective.
canopy antennas are the slim ones from motorala, said to cost more than the sendfar units.
whatever the case may be pinging 10.0.0.1 -t will check your wireless link. if the replies are good, no timeouts and the response time is fast then your connection is ok. if there are frequent time outs then there’s a problem with your connection.
the funny thing is that there are times when i don’t have a connection and yet when i ping 10.0.0.1 -t i have a perfect response. other times too only my p2p programs work. and last month many sites didn’t open. weird huh?

i have 4 computers currently connected to my wifi internet. i use a linksys wired router and it does the job perfectly. i’ve been using it since september and it’s been on 24/7. i prefer this wired router because it’s more stable than its wireless counterpart the WRT54G. i tried one and the connection would get cut from time to time so i had to restart it.

I supposed the linksys router is configuration friendly as in plug n play? or do you need techie knowledge to make it work..? because I tried a Cisco 2-Eth port router and could not make it work because I can’t figure out how to enable DHCP and automatically get the IP of the WIFI on the Cisco router..;-) eventually what I did was to use a dock bay with another LAN port and then connect the other LAN port to a switch..then enable internet sharing..it did work..anyway, thanks for your tip!

Linksys routers are easy to setup. Just run the supplied cd first and follow the instructions. it’s that easy. Goodluck!

linksys wrt54g is around 3,050 pesos. the wired one is around 2000 plus. if i had a choice i’d buy the one with the range expander (around 8000!). another option is the compact linksys wireless router. the main problem with the wireless routers is that the wireless connections tend to get disconnected after some time. by the way i buy my stuff from pcx.
thanks jun, i’ll settle for the wired 2k plus, it’s just for home use, i got 2 pcs here, the setup I have before with the dual LAN on the laptop dock bay, just stopped working..don’t know why, seems the dock bay malfunctioned…now we can’t use both pcs at the same time over internet..

wait ka lang, may grace period kase sa SMART bago nila pasakitin ang ulo mo sa intermittent connection..ganyan din yung sa amin before, smooth sailing , pero lately madalas na ang downtime…;-) kung baga pinapa dama ka lang! ha! ha!
guys try nyo lang specs na ganito
memory 256 or higher (not shared)
processor amd 2400up or P4 ghz up
videocard (optional)required for better pc performance
tapos po try nyo tong steps na to, goto to search and then type then click ALL files and folders type nyo *.tmp burahin nyo lahat ng files na lalabas sa result , tapos wag nyo rin kalimutan mag disk clean-up
then download po kayo ng software na modem max or tweak master .
then restart nyo na po, see the result. try nyo lang po kasi palagay naenhance kahit papano ung performance both pc and Internet connection
@omski- haha I have to agree with you. ang ganda ng internet connection ng smart bro pag una tapos pag tumatagal bumabagal. Parang nang aasar eh no

d ba nyo na-iexperience ang pagbagal at bigla nlng mwawala ung connection nyo badtrip pa yang mga customer support d nila lam kung pano magsupport! sana nman maayos nyo service nyo. 1 week na ako nakkaexperience 3 times na ako 2mtawag. anu ba yan!
