Gaya rin me ng iba nakakainis ang smart wifi! I’m into net business.
Nung 1st month up to 3rd month ok ang connection nila pero after that maiinis ka na. lagi n lng log pag nasa game ka, pag nag chat ka naman nawawala ang connection kausap mo na yung ka chat mo bigla mawawala yung connection.
Buti pa nung dial up kami e at least alam ng customer na dial up ka they know na mabagal talaga ung speed mo. Pero alalm nila na ka smart wif ako so expected nila mabilis. Nag aalisan tuloy, nakakagigil na. Pag tumawag ka sa tech support sasabihin sa iyo nasa tech enhancement pa sila tawag ka ulit after 1 hour pag tawag mo naman sasabihin sau tawag ka uli after 1 hour ano ba yannnnnnnnnnnnn! alalm nyo dapat sa adds nyo sa tv ganito (Smart Bro 7 times slower than dial up) kaya mag dial up na kayo di ba!!

Suwapang ka naman kasi eh….alam mo ba na pang personal use lang ang package ng smart wifi(for only one pc)na binibigay at hindi pang business.kung gusto mo magpakabit ka ng business package para malaman mo yung difference.

And I wonder why DTI haven’t remove that 7 x faster than dial-up voice in and note on their latest commercial which everyone knows that is a marketing lie! hay.
Most of the problems arising from this wireless broadband service is caused by interference. Latency increases significantly as more and more wireless devices uses the frequency in a certain area. Smart Wifi uses either 2.4 and 5.7 Ghz frequencies. They are free for all or license free. It is used by many commercially available point to multi point wireless devices.
My brother who’s subscribed to Smart Wifi confirmed that they use Canopy wireless broadband from Motorola. I used to be part of a team that distributes this to nationwide. There were mixed results on its performance. In Makati for example, where the frequencies are heavily occupied, latencies are very high. While when we deployed it in provinces like Cavite, Aklan or Angeles, it worked perfectly with less than 5ms latency.

Yung frequencies na 2.4(sendfar)at 5.7Ghz(canopy)hindi po license free.regulated din po yan ng NTC.dati si meralco ang may hawak ng 5Ghz pataas na freq.para sa mga transmitter nila pero ngayon pinacommercial na.siguro nagkakaroon lang ng interference(tulad sa sinasabi)kung meron mga illegal na gumagamit ng same freq.tulad ng sa smart at maaari din na meron gumagamit ng mas mataas sa smart freq..Hindi naman papayag ang goverment(NTC)na maging license free yan.sayang ang kita…alam mo naman na sa canopy meron nilalagay o inaassign na frequencies diba(custom RF Freq.5735-5840)ayan yung nakalicense kay smart.Hindi mo ba naiisip na bakit si globe o iba pang isp hanggang ngayon hindi nakikipag compete kay smart?kasi halos lahat ng frequency allocation eh hawak ni smart.Hawak dati yan ni meridian.license kay meridian yan kaya binili sila ni smart.dati meridian lang ang dominant isp na nagooffer ng wireless internet s pilipinas kasi sila lang ang may ari nung mga frequencies na mataas.
Tulits: Oo nga, you’re right. In contrast to other countries like in the US, we are one of the countries na walang libreng frequencies. All are regulated by NTC. But what I know as per Motorola, is that even if the 5.7 and 2.4 Ghz freq are regulated, there shouldn’t be any license fees. Making them license-free. Nakakalito kasi in other countries it’s not regulated.
Knowing how Telcos and NTC operates in the Philippines, they have a way to steer things to their advantage. To monopolize.
We had canopy clients in Manila who had a hard time getting approval because as far as we know, NTCs holding their application. Our provincial clients like Nueva Ecija, and who had contacts in NTC were able to get approval for the use of the frequency but within a certain area and for enterprise use only (wide area network).
Btw, textron, broadband philippines, and bell telecom (local wireless ISPs/Telcos) also uses the 5.7 Ghz frequencies. They use several brands of wireless broadband devices and one of them is Canopy.
Eventually, thru Wimax http://www.wimax.com, all these brands can exchange data with each other. No more proprietary wireless protocols. At sana, maayos na rin yung interference and latency problems.
Ever since I have smart wifi apr 3 2006, the connection is f*cking slow and unreliable, I called their billing and told me to give a rebate for apr 3 – 27. WTF? and wait for another 15business days sa rebate. now it’s already May 07 and the connection is still freakn’ crappy slow. yesterday it was halfday downtime. WTFFFF??!!!???? dumb ass smart marketing, keep selling a service w/o consulting the technical capabality of their infrastructure. Mga gagoooo pa. rename pa nila ang service from Smart Wifi to Smart Bro. BULLSH*T!!! Im so pissed off. sorry guys, for the fowl and swearing words. Im just so pissed off. I called their billing dept. and told them that I will discontinue the svc, and they told me i have to pay the remaining months daw??!!! well it’s not my fault that I will ask for dc of svc. it’s their F*CKN’ fault. money is not an issue for me but I have to be fair. ok? sorry tlaga guys, dito lang tlaga ako nakapaglabas sa lahat ng sentiments ko sa dumb smart. They Milk you and then milk you more and give you crappy service in return. SA MGA TAO NAG BASA NITO. DON’T IDOLIZE SMART BRO OR WIFI. IT’S CRAPPY. LOUSY SERVICE. I need a bandwidth critically bec. So Smart ng Smart. imagine a broadband connection running at 80kbps whatta shame, i really ain’t getting the value of what i have paid for. Fluctuating connection, unstable service. now you connect now you dont. too bad. i hope someone from smart or meridian is reading this forum. Please have a heart the money you have been receiving came from the blood, sweat and tears of the subscribers. If i may suggest rename nyo na lang SMART SIS as in SIStem down. at least may catch and everybody will agree on to it and for the first time in your history there will be a lot of positve feedbacks. like: GOOD NAME IT GOES WITH THE SERVICE. Yah that’s true. Super sakit ng ulo na talaga ang smart wifi na ito. it’s almost a week now na ang hina ng connections ko. Matagal na akong naiinis sa knila dahil the other time almost two months akong walang signal the fact na itinatawag mo na sa knila hindi pa rin nila binibigyan ng actions.
Di lang un nakakainis na rin ung mga cs nila dahil parang mga robot na kung kumilos. I know na SOP nila to conduct trouble shooting pero for gods sake ilang trouble shooting ba ang kailangang gawin to report to their higher ekek na wala kang signal and you need their technicians. Nakikita naman nila through their records kung ilang beses ka nang tumawag sa kanila. And one more thing pag sinabi nila na tatawagan ka within 24 hours hindi naman sila tumatawag. Nakakainis na talaga. Or may tatawag nga sa yo at kakamustahin ung connections mo na para bang nakakaloko samantalang may report ka sa knila na wala kang connections, hahaha kakainis talaga…
Isa pa pala… minsan tumawag sa akin ung sa smart to tell me na may pupuntang technician para ayusin ang connection ko… Hay naku!!!! namuti na ang mga mata ko sa kahihintay walang dumating na technician.. badtrip talaga!!!
i symphatize all smart wifi subscribers …actually kakatawag ko lang sa customer service nila i was really upset talked to there supervisor kc i dnt have internet connection for almost a 2 weeks …matagal na itong problema ko sa kanila every month if you are going to file my emails to der escalation team at mga tawag ko sa tech support and billing department nila pwede na ipabookbind ….well im not exaggerating there service really sucks!!!!..as soon maka isang taon na ako i will disconnect my service with them i am tired na kase der are times pag wala akong service ng 1-2 days nde ko na itinatawag kase nakakapagod na

if you dont have service for days already or worst weeks ask der customer service for refund for the days you dont have any service just make sure that when you dont have internet connection you immediately call there techsupport so that they can note your account about the problem and make sure na you have records also so that you can make a followup …they will adjust it ..
…call like 2-3 times for followup and get there reference number especially for adjustment just to make sure that the person who handles your cncern did der job cuz there are times ma-ooverlook lang yung kaso nyo .. walang masama magask ng refund its your right as a consumer to ask for it ..bakit naman kau magbabayad ng buo kung kalahating buwan lang serbisyo….(make sense diba…)

the reason i applied for smart wifi cuz we dont have any landline phone and i have no plans to apply kase dagdag gastos lang since wala naman ako lagi sa bahay i opted for this service i was convinced before this was the best choice for internet connection kase gusto ko mas mabilis ….i must say i regret it
….bagsak ko ngaun i applied for phone line kase laging down ang connection ng smart wifi i have to get a landline phone for backup ..eh halos magkasing bilis na rin sila ng dialup
….one more thing if u did everything ….all the trouble shooting steps ask nyo agad for there tech people to go to ur house kase minsan sa antenna problema .u dnt knw maybe u have a deffective antenna and it needs replacement so dnt waste ur time calling ….
waste ur time doing troubleshooting eh yun pala nalaglag na pala yung antenna ..tsk tsk tsk make sure u tell the tech guy to install it correctly

LOL…. ZOMG!!! this service sucks big time… I cant help but think how they (the administrators) sleep at nights. Our connection has been down the whole week (dont get me wrong, this crap has been going on for a year… on off on off… ) and their customer service ppl know jack crap.. if we had a choice we would have left smart last year, its just we really dont have a choice at the moment since we dont have landline where we live.

Like others satisfied me sa bilis ng connection koh? but after a weeks, maybe two weeks naging 300 kbps. na lang ang connection ko… pero kung gusto ninyo na bumilis pa ang connection ninyo try ngo gumamit ng Internet Accelerators… but in some case there are some accelerators or Int. boosters that block the smart / meridian portal….

Yes, its quite a disappointing service. I’m not reaching the promised 384kbps at all. I’d be happy if I could reach 200kbps minsan 100kbps ayaw pa nga. Bagal talaga especially pag mga peak hours na 12noon to 5pm. Bagal din pag 10pm to 2:30am. Usually 70kbps to 80kbps lang connection namin dito sa Project 4, QC. May kaibigan ako ganito din problem niya. Mga 2 blocks away lang siya sa bahay ko at same AP kami na kinukunan. Medyo crappy connection siya. Hay kailan pa kaya maayos to…. Nagsimula lang to noong April 11 sa amin. Dati 280+kbps connection ko dito ngayon sobrang bagal na.

tama……….. ang dial up my 12 kbps ang speed pag PLDT ang gamit mo, eh…. times mo sa 7 equals 84 kbps!!!!! di ba tama ang speed na binibigay ng smart wifi or smart bro! tawagan mo nga ang technical nila sasabihin restart mo yng computer mo tapos ping mo uli, or cmd ang ipagagawa syo! kahit ilang beses mo restart ang computer kung di nila inspection ang antena na kinabit nila hindi gaganda ang service nila! ako nga nag request ng nov. para mapalitan ng conopy feb. napalitan! yung nagpalit nang hihingi pa ng lagay dahil ginawa nila! yung kaibigan ko nagpakabit ng smart wifi! alam nyo ba na nanghingi pa ng P2,000 pesos dahil kinabit nila sa network! yung router ginawang hub! samantalang may hub rin na gamit….. ang totoo hindi marunong gumamit ng router ang mga installer ng smart! hahahaha! alam daw ng smart ang pagsingil nila ng additional fee ng P2,000 pesos! paki check lang po sa san mateo po naggagala ang mga installer ng smart wifi na naghihingi ng installation fee at may dala pang lan card P500 ang benta nila! baka mabiktima kayo ng tao ng smart wifi! ang sasakyan nila kulay marun ng mitsubishi ng spacewagon……….. ingat mga bro!
This Smart WiFi thing is the biggest scam that this company is trying to get away with. After several months of having a disappointed service from them (that is, getting an average of 35KBPS. Most of the time, no connection and their tech support is useless). So I decided to discontinue paying. Now they are threatening me of a law suit. They think they can scare me of this. I will fight for my rights until the end. I’m not just going to sit down and steal my hard-earned money. If we, the subscribers who decided to discontinue paying because of the poor service, can just unite and fight. I believe, we can win this war.

My Smartbro application was connected last Feb. 01, 2007. I got good and fast connection whenever I browse the internet. Until the 27th of Feb-03 of March, all I got was limited or no connectivity messages on the icon of the lower right corner of my PC. I called smartbro’s hotline twice… they all say the same lines and the same solutions… oh what a headache! One time my aunt wanted to apply for a new connection (whom i recommend smartbro) and it went successfully installed and happen to open up my problem with the technician and to my awe they visit my house to see and attend to my needs…. viola! They installed a new canopy to end my HEADACHES. Ganyan sana ang gawin ng nasa hotline centers ng Smart… hindi lang puro dada at do this do that sir/maam in front of your computer. Nakaka-asar minsan, wala ka na ngang magawa sa problemo mo hindi ka pa bibigyan ng person to repair the problem. Good work to those technicians who solve my uncertainties… Good work to a certain Ronnie Oga of Smart Wireless Center in Limketkai Mall, Cagayan de Oro City. Sana ganyan din ang gawin ng iba. Aside from being at the hotline centers magpapadala din sila ng mga technicians sa field to repair whatever problems Smartbro had.

Lumipat kami sa smart bro dahil akala namin ay ok. Amp wala rin pala. Hanggat merong mga nagnenegosyo na pera lang ang inaatupag at hindi ang mga customers niya ay ganito lagi ang mangyayari. mga tols, tama sila may mga rea lang talaga ng problemado pero as far as i know, on going ang planning for upgrade at magtayo pa ng maraming BTS sa pinas. Napansin nyo ba na mas ok na yung sbro ngayon kesa dati its because they’re advancing pa for more good service. If may problem talaga sa link na antenna, Base stations report lang agad sa WC (wireless center nalang kasi tatawagan kayo para icheck at kung kailangan magpapunta ng technicians malalaman mo agad yung schedule). ok. i’m a former smartbro tech support, and i emphatize with the subscribers of smartbro grabe kahit kaming mga tech support nadidisappoint sa service nila
although sa ibang area e ok ang service pero kung susumatotalin mo ang good sa bad e masasapawan ang good connection ng bad connection at ito ang mga napapansin namin sa smartbro:
1. nag aaprove sila ng installation kahit congested n ang base station kaya ang nangyayari nagaagawan sa connection ang mga subs
2. gagawa ka nga ng report sa support team e di naman ichecheck ng support team kaya ayun no action same problem parin pag check mo ang daming reports na same ang concern
3. ang ibang installer lagi ring nirereklamno kasi bigla na lang aalis ng di man lang inaassure ang subs kung ok o hindi ang connection
advise lang sana sa mga balak mag smartbro check nyo muna sa mag katabi nyong bahay kung ok ang smartbro nila bago mag pa install kung yung sa paligid e nagkakaron ng prob malamang pag nagpainstall kayo same din prob nyo regarding nama sa smartbro prepaid advise din kung ok signal ng smart sa inyo possible ok din ang prepaidsmartbro cge po good luck n lang!!!

1 Week na Paputol2 connection namin d2 sa Bicol. Araw2 ako tumatawag sa customer support pero walang nangyayari! anu ba yan. NAGBABAYAD NAMAN KAMI AH! Kaya Ayusin nyo Serbisyo nyo! Pasalamat kau at kau lang ang available na ISP d2 sa Lugar namin. kung meron iba tyak dun n ko. Wag n kau gumawa ng Commercial! Nakakahiya lang.. Mga Mukhang pera.
sabi ko na nga ba, tama ang hinala ko dapat kasi naglandline na lang ako eh kaso nga eh kailangan ko na talagang magkainternet kasi ang dami kong projects sa school at ginagabi na ako sa paguwi kaya i decided na magpakabit ng internet pglandline ka kasi tulad ng pldt eh aabutin ng 3 weeks bago makabitan pag smart bro mabilis 2 days lang andyan na agad kaso alam ko na mabagal talaga yung connection nila kaso un nga kelangan ko na ng internet sabi tuloy ng kapatid ko “Yes! Guys! SMART bro. (canopy) ba yung gamit nyo? are you guys facing a bunch of problem right now dahil sa putol2x na connection? Well, may solusyon na tayo dyan! just put a RELFECTOR on it o di kaya LENS. This product are also design by motorola para sa canopies talaga. By the way Technical Service Engineer po ako sa isang TELCO company and we are an AUTHORIZED MOTOROLA wireless bradband DISTRIBUTOR, for safety hindi ko lang po e mention yung company namin, if you will get intouch with me through email or text, i will explain to you the capabilities of the product and what campany i’m with. We had a project in Cebu wich is the wireless video surveillance cameras (IP cameras) we did used motorola canopy and it worked well guys, imagine Live Video nga yung tina-transmit nun pro we still obtain 30fps! how much more kung data lang (internet). During the installation of the said wireless cameras we encountered some problems regarding sa distance coverage ng radio namin from (AP-AccessPoint to SM-subscriber module). May iba kc na malayo na sa AP so out of coverage na minsana naman nakukuha namin yung signal pro masyadong mataas yung JITTER and yung RSSI masyadong mababa nag reregister xa pro nag puputol putol. Kaya yung ginawa po namin we USED REFLECTORS and LENS. wallahh our problem was solved!

I agree its been so many months still ang reason dito sa makati area under maintenance. Everytime I called as in wala ng reason iba. Imagine nasa makati na ko 7 times slower talaga at log in log out sayang ang load. dinala ko sa quezon city ganun din hay citywide pa lang yun pano na kaya pag nag out of town ako. tapos na ngangain pa ng load…….. 1.) Download Cablenut http://www.softpedia.com/get/Tweak/Network-Tweak/CableNut.shtml. (this is a freeware program)
2.) Install CableNut, restart PC after installation.
3.) Test your speed http://pldt.speedtest.net/. Note your Download and Upload speeds.
4.) Note your download, upload values in Kbps & latency value in ms (milliseconds). ** To know your latency, open Command Prompt (start menu/run/type cmd/enter). In the command prompt type ping 202.57.117.1 and hit enter. Your latency is the “Approximate round-trip times in milli-seconds Average”. However, it is just fine if you may want to get the maximum latency value.

6.) Click “Compute Settings”

10.) Know your TCP Receive Window (RWIN) values, write down the values for “scale factor of 8″ and “scale factor of 4″.

12.) Install CCleaner, Analyze and Run Cleaner to eliminate all unwanted and junk files in your HD.
13.) Now open Command Prompt, type ipconfig /flushdns.
14.) Exit Command Prompt.
15.) Open the CableNut setting you saved on your desktop.
16.) In the “DefaultReceiveWindow” box, change the current value to the value you wrote for “scale factor of 8″
17.) In the “DefaultSendWindow” box, change the current value to the value you wrote for “scale factor of 4″
18.) Important, see to it that the value for TCPMaxHalfOpen = 100, MaxConnectionsPer1_0Server = 10 and MaxConnectionsPerServer = 10
19.) Click “Save to Registry”, OK & Exit.
20.) Restart PC

actually naging intermittent ulit sya pero nasolutionan namin, sa lugar kasi namin maraming puno na nakaharang from our canopy to the base station, so ang ginawa ng mga techs, tinaasan yung canopy antenna para walang nakaharang. hahaha
ayun! simula nun sobrang ayos na ayos ang connection namin.
nakakapag online FPS games kami 4 computers sa isang canopy lang, ang average ping is 20. ok na ok dba?
