Misfortunes of Smart Wifi and Smart Bro Customers
Just today I got my bill from Smart Bro. It included a small card for an anniversary offer of 1 month free broadband service. Right off the bat, I knew there was a catch, and it didn’t take me long to get to it: I can only avail of the promo if I renew my lock-in period.
I was thinking this could be an early April Fools joke, but it came complete with an application form, and an additional deal to get a cheap cell phone package for a monthly fee. They were not kidding.
What nerve for a company with a less-than-satisfactory service to want to get you to extend your lock-in period, in exchange for 1 month of crappy Internet. It’s like offering someone free garbage. Obviously, I passed on the offer.
Dear Smart Communications, if you wish to retain your customers, do not treat them like idiots. (We have more knowledge and can set up Canopy hardware better than your technicians can.) Instead, stay true to your “7x faster than dial-up” claim, and be more detailed than “technical activities ongoing”. Because providing a better service will always be superior to gimmicks and promos.

haha that catch is BS.. sorry to say but I really don’t like Smart Bro’s service at the moment. Most of the time the connection goes slow and lags when I’m playing my favorite online games.
Although, their customer support acts fast whenever I complain. But it’s just me.
well if its true , they should do that,,, hmmm mga tol/ate i just have a question from back of my head ,,ops not lower, lol, i just go to smart wifi and inquired it and they said that their wifi thing is now good quality but when i read here the part of discourage , i just want to know if they telling the truth coz i realy need some advice on smart wifi, if im going to apply or not? and about thier access now is better or not ?? and you also have a good WIFI access on SMART or NOT?? help!!! ….just ignore sa gram..lol….. salamat!! thx !!
@james_wang: It’s a matter of luck. Kung swerte ka, you’ll be pointed to a base station that suffers as little downtime as possible. Kung naman malas ka like most of the people on this website, you’ll have a bad experience with Smart BRO. I’m not sure it’s better now than it was before, but for the past month I’ve been experiencing the same choppy connection as before. Ask the people in your neighborhood na may Smart BRO kung ok ba yung connection uptime and quality na nakukuha nila. Kung ok ang feedback, baka you’ll have the same service.
tama po siBrownspank, its a matter of luck. Malas yung ibang may pangit na AP’s reception sa lugar nila.
Update: they called me a couple of days ago to follow-up on their anniversary promo, and I answered with a firm “no”.
I’m one of those who bought SmartBro Prepaid for Php.2,500.00 and I tell you, 7x better than dialup? I’m
experiencing 1/4 the speed of dial-up whenever i got a new load. after 1 and a half hour of load 300, it will disconnect. After that, when you reconnect, you will always be disconnected again within 15mins. Since smartbro bills (sucks) your money every 30minute block, such disconnect/reconnect fiasco will eat up your load amazingly fast (and insure a lot of undeserved and dishonestly earned money goes to smart communications coffers).
It’s sad that smart communications get away with such a scam and there is no accountability on level of services they provide. Well, a fault of well oiled politicians that’s why we the people suffer such abominable “service”. A product, supported by morons.
DON’T BUY SMARTBRO PREPAID. IT’S GARBAGE!
