Gud pm to everyone, a few hours ago, in this same very day, after my message sent in this blog, Somebody from Smart hotline called here in our house informing us that Smart technical group will be coming to visit our place to look for any possible problem why we dont have a stable internet connection. At about 3 pm of the very same day they arrived here and do some testing and replaced the old equipment what they call Motorola Canopy with the new one and re-orienting the direction of antenna towards a new cell sites pointing to the south base station. Alas! we have never got DC even a second again. Maybe the problem is the orientation of the antenna or the kilometer radius. Thanx SmartBro anyway, sana magtuloy-tuloy na ito at wala na kaming ma experience na inconvenience kc kailangan talaga nmin internet d2 sa bahay kc nga un trabaho nmin lahat web based na eh. Pag tuloy2x na wala problema, PROMISE, RENEW NMIN ULI UN CONTRACT KAPAG MAG EXPIRE NA TO! Pardon for any not so good comment kanina, Tenk pow uli sa mga concerned d2. Kudos for SmartBro!
Ganyang ganyan din yung nangyari sa akin. Nung 128kbps yung subscription ko, nagpaupgrade ako sa 256kbps. Imbis na bumilis yung connection ko, lalong sumama! Mukhang sobrang congested na yung network nila sa 256kbps kaya pumangit lalo. Ngayon may 384kbps na sila. Yoko na magpaupgrade baka sumama pa lalo yung connection ko. Ok na ako dito sa 256kbps (kahit na nasa 100kbps lang sya, di ko pa nakitang umabot ng +200kbps).

i am 1 of the first 10 custumers na nagpainstall ng serveice nio d2 sa city namin.. ako ang nag aya sa mga kapit bahay ko at friends ko na mag pa install ng wifi.. knowing na ayos ang serveice nio.. okey naman eh..”SA SIMULA” pero ngeon asan na?? napapahiya ako sa kanila dahil sa “service” nyo na walang kaprogress progress!! sa palala naman kayo eh!! “PLS FIX ‘DIS INTERNET CONNECTION SMART BRO’S!!!”

Ano yung antenna na naka kabit sa bahay nyo? Yung pa box o yung patayo (canopy). Yung pa-box kasi yung lumang antenna nila. Bulok yun! Kung ito antenna mo, papalit ka. Inaway ko yung smart ng mga 1 buwan bago nila pinalitan yung antenna ko. Kapag napalitan na, mas gaganda connection mo (pero di pa rin abot sa kalahati ng speed na nirequest mo).
Mas maganda try nyo gamitin yung PRTG para naka graph at monitor yung actual download at upload speeds nyo. Lalo na don sa mga nagttorrents. D2 kasi makikita nyo kung talagang mabagal b connection nyo or may time of day lang bumabagal connection nyo. Mas maiintindihan nyo connection nyo d2 at eto pde nyo gamitin n pang report sa smart para malaman nila n talaga may problema kayo. Kasi d2 nakagraph yung connection nyo ng 24hrs basta nagrrun yung service ng PRTG.
Eto ginagamit ko para malaman ko kung dapat b ko maglipat ng AP. Madali kasi makita sa 24hr graph nya kung ano average speed k.
ngaun lang ako naka visit dito sa site na ito at marami na ako narinig na complaint about smartbro.
Im also a subscriber of smartbro at hindi pa ako nakaka experience the major trouble with regards to my connection.
a piece of advise to all, kung may problem kyo sa connection (slow, intermittent, may mga packet loss) at pinuntahan kyo ng tech support team, please ensure the following:
RSSI should be greater than 500
Jitter should be low (less than 4 but may vary depending on the configuration of the canopy)
Tanungin nyo din sa tech support team kung ano ang Result ng Link Test once na makaregister yung canopy nyo sa isang Base Station.
Itong link test kc ang magdedetermine kung ano klase connection meron kyo with respect sa base station na maaaring makaapekto later on..
Link test is express in terms of % efficiency ng downlink at uplink connection. The value should be greater than 90% at hindi bababa. Kung maganda ang nasasagap na signal ng antenna mo, 100% ito.
Isipin natin na yung signal natin nagbabago kapag nag iiba ang panahon. Nag aattenuate ang signal kya kung hindi maganda ang signal mo na narereceived mas papangit yan kapag umulan.Pde kc mareflect/ma absorb/marefract ang signal kapag umuulan bago mareceive ng antenna at nag kakaroon ng multipath fading na tinatawag.. effect is nagbabago ang signal na marereceived. This case applies sa lahat ng wireless propagation. Radio waves kc yan. Medyo technical pero yung yung reality. =)
Sa simula pa lang alamin na natin ang mga ito para later on hindi tyo magkaproblem.
In fairness sa SMART, they are trying their best to give us quality service. Yung mga feedback natin ay welcome hwag lang tyo magsalita ng masasama kasi parang hindi tyo mga professional. =(
Isumbong nyo yung mga contractor na basta lang nag iinstall. kalimitan kasi pinipilit nila na iinstall kahit hindi feasible kya ang subs ang nagssuffer.
Yung inooffer naman ng SMART is not guaranteed speed. Let say 384kbps. Burstible. Ganun din naman kay PLDT DSL.Yung inooffer nila na speed ay hindi rin guaranteed. Burstible din.
I just called Smart Bro tech support re: repositioning of the antenna (Motorola canopy).
I asked them twice if there was an extra charge for this service. Answer of Smart Bro tech support: There is NO CHARGE for repositioning the antenna. This service is FREE.
If your contractor is charging you P2000 for moving your antenna to a different location, you can call SmartBro & report it. You can also send an email to the customer service division of Smart Telecommunications.
I made similar reports to SmartBro billing/tech support & sent emails to customer service when I first installed Smart WiFi. The contractor told me I needed a router & tried to sell me one for P5,000. FYI: Smart WiFi/Bro does not sell routers.
Bakit naman po sobrang mahal ng singil nyo sa relocation ng antenna…(Php1400)…Kami na nga nagrelaocate ng antenna namin tapos humihingi lang kami ng favor kung pwede ilipat sa mas malapit na base station kasi nga inilipat ang antenna dun…MAS MAHAL PA SA PAINSTALL NG BAGO?
