   i can browse the websites you mentioned quite ok.
   ping is just another way to check, and you ought to check also if you have personal firewall enabled. check also your browser’s security settings, and reset them to default if needed.

   I think it’s because of the DNS servers. Try using the IP’s of those websites; like, visit http://209.11.168.242 for Friendster. If you see the Friendster site using the IP and not the domain (www.friendster.com), probably there’s a problem sa DNS servers…

   If anyone’s experiencing slow DNS servers, you can search “treewalk dns” at Google and download the software. Follow the instructions and it might just help make those slow sites go faster. Also, you can search for free or commercial dns server software. I think it’s really easy to setup and won’t cost much time. Okay, good luck, mga friends!

   try using OpenDNS

   1. Sa XP punta k sa network connections

   Start->All Programs->Accessiries->Communications->Network Connections

   2. Tapos right click mo Local Area Connection mo
   Click on Properties

   3. Click mo TCP/IP. Tapos click on properties.

   4. Click mo “Use the following DNS server addresses”

   5. Eto lagay mo sa DNS
   Preferred DNS Server: 208.67.220.220
   Alternate DNS Server: 208.67.222.222

   Chk mo kung mag-iimprove ang pagssurf mo

   smartbro sucks! and they know that… God knows that! God bless na lang sa kanila. Kung hindi nga lang naka-lock in ng two(2) years, ipapaterminate ko na. Mag-go-globe HSDPA na lang ako yung visibility plan nila. Php2,000/mo. pero 25x faster than the dial up or 10x faster than DSL. Galing noh? meron na nun ang cousin ko. totoo! okay. sana ma-improve ng smartbro ang connection. Taasan nila ang bandwidth na ibinibigay nila. at itrain nilang mabuti ang mga contractor at technical representatives nila.

   Have you tried to sign in? nang yari yan sa akin. smart lng na website ang mapasukan ko. pwede ka ata mag sign in sa site nila para magamit mo ang internet mo.

   cympaulife, thank you for the suggestion of opendns. my browsing is a lot faster now than before when using the dns servers from smart bro. more power!!!
