Misfortunes of Smart Wifi and Smart Bro Customers
I’m from Baguio City a smart bro user for a month now… My internet speed is just good for browsing the internet.. i cant play online games(I get so Laggy when paying and even disconnected), cant download 50+megabytes of data(its very very slow) when downloading it goes like this at start of download it starts at arround 40+kbps/sec then suddenly goes 27kbps/sec going 21kbps/sec then 19kbps/sec untill it reaches 5kbps/sec drops to 4kbps/sec then back to 5 and i only completed 10% of the download.. sigh… dont even know what is the problem why its like this.. I applied for this sh…t so that i could browse the internet and play online games i know that i can not get a 100% lagless or flawless gaming experience with this smartbro but i didnt expect it to be this SH..TY!!! I called Customer support but didnt get no solutions…their technicians just said try light games.. i tried low types of games like RAN online coz this game has low graphics comparing to RF online.. but still so laggy my character and other characters doesnt even move now.. so i gave up online gaming for now and stayed on PC games.. I can still use my internet for assignments and browsing.. but still i’m not satisfied with this service… I’m just gonna call again and let them come and see for themselves and hope they dont worsen my connection… but i’m hoping that i could get some expert advise in these forum maybe your advice can help me fix this… BTW heres my email add just incase someone could help.. nephelim_01@yahoo.com

gud pm po. tulungan nyo rin po kami sa ibang site. we need to spread the rust smartbro has been putting on us users for years now. this needs to be stopped. sobra na po talaga ang kahayupan ng smartwifi o bro na yan sa mga subscribers nila. they are not human. they are money-suckers. mga friends marami din po kami sa ibang forum na we need assistance din po. please help other smartbro victims. kung may time po kayo drop by kayo sa http://www.pinoyservant.com nifer din po ako dito ng taga dun. i think message boards should spread talaga issues on smarbro services. we need to do something.

Haayy naku. I had my smartbro”lok” installed last January 28, 2007 and it’s already been 23 days of frustration. My dial-up performs even better. I called up the technical support and was advised to open multiple sites to jump start the system. It didn’t work. I’m not expecting a connection at light speed but I’m expecting at least a connection a little faster than my dial-up.
I’d been trying to contact technical support again but it just added to my frustration. Now I can’t even contact technical support. Ano ba yan??? Is this the kind of service that we are paying for? What a way to do business…… p f f f f t t t t…….
research on consumer act or any related RA’s then if you found something related to this concern, you better appeal it to trial court….
guys, we already fell into the trap. i think there’s no other option to cut smartbro from your bill unless you wanna cancel it out automatically and pay the remaining balance of your subscription. i’ve suffered from slow speeds with smartbro, but after a couple of tweaking, i made it just stable. before when i do speedtests, i’m only getting an average of 117down/214up. look at that. upload has more power than download. goodness. its not even halfway through. anyway, right now after i tried this tweak, i’m able to make my connection stable. i’m getting 340down/280up. which I think is fair enough since this is a wireless connection. u might wanna try. maybe it could also work for you.

It doesn’t matter what you say, smart will never get better. You can not call their customer service for any solution, if you get this service you will be stuck with an internet connection that is worse than dialup. What are customer service going to do? Wave a magic wand over your internet connection? Pffft… the problems are with the ISP itself and not the customers.
Let me tell you my experiences with it, what I have noticed, with an unbiased response:
Connections between 8am - 7pm are very unstable. Run a constant ping to their gateway and you will get contant dropping of packets.
There will be times when the internet will be OK. Then, as soon as you start to stream audio or VOIP, it all turns to crap. I’m sure there is some kind of traffic shaping going on regarding this, during business hours. It happens all the time and am not sure if anyone else has noticed it. At nights I can stream music without a single drop out. During the day, it’s impossible to play music. It’s not because it’s slow, it’s because it just stops. In fact, when it does work, it works quite good. My internet speed is never slow. It’s either decent, or nothing. There is no middle ground. When the connection comes up again, it’s fine… then as soon as you use VOIP or music, internet drops out.
I strongly suggest people to avoid this provider like the plague. You can’t sell internet that only works after hours. At least dialup is consistant.

Grifter… we have same problem… I emailed DTI awhile ago… Ill email NTC tomorow or visit their office at Pacdal or call them at 3044876/ 09205175595… ill email you any response. call customer service everyday and jot down date, name, service report number and the report of your problem. ive been doing it now for three months para may evidence… ive also done speedtests at speedtests.net, testmy.net, reviews.cnet.com, 2wire.com, and mcafee.com and i printscreen every result. then boycot them heheh… i wont pay this april cuz im really sick and tired of Smart Bobo… Grabeh… 3 anime lng mdadownload in 24 hours… ang taas ng bill k sa kuryente… Syete… LOL

Mga Bro i know all these stuffs…sorry talaga kung ganun na experienced ninyo… Basta if ever the problem get worst na talaga when it comes to connection just report immediately in WC… you can have an immediate response… Sometimes it easy to resolved the problem but sometimes agent has limited access to resolved but i know network will be more usefull.. you’ll see. Then i tried testing my connection speed ang sabi masmabagal pa sa dial up, ganun na ba ang broadband ngayon?? mas mabaal pa sa dial-up…
WTF! sana naman ayusin na nila to, kasi may hinala ako na sila ang pakana ng ZTE scandal, baka kasabwat nila si JUN because they know the fact that zTE has batter services than smart corporation. ayaw nila ng kacompetensya.

i also experience this situation. i am just merely a week using of smart bro. the first problem i had was i cant connect on the network especially when it started to rain. parang wala kang signal pag umuulan. wierd bakit pa naging broadband di ba. i called tech support as usual i talked to a certain rommel obanes and i can feel that he think i am so dumb in accessing the internet. i told him i worked before in an internet company as costumer service and i know enough about connection and usage. given the report number wala naman akong na receive na text or call. then when i connect nag ok naman though ang bagal lang minsan lalo na pag hapon mga 6 to 10 pm imagine the download is 200++ kbps and the upload is 2kbps…
di na ko tumawag baka lalo lang akong mainis. well sana ayusin ang service para naman worth ang bayad. ang laki na nga ng kita nila considering na ang smart na phone ay nangunguha ng load ng ganun ganun na lang….

yup its been 5 days now since my recent smart bro installation; good news is i can browse without any problem. the downside is i cannot play RF online which is actually the main reason why i subscribed with smart bro services. nka block ba ip ng level up games sa configuration ng smart bro?
