Misfortunes of Smart Wifi and Smart Bro Customers

Archive for the ‘Smart Wifi News’ Category

Hi Fellow Smart Unfortunates,

I already called Probe TV and report our problem regarding false advertisment, customer unsatisfaction and product crap of Smart Bro-ken. I was just wondering if anyone of you out there that are willing to take part in this to call this number 9229273 and ask for the segment department. The more calls they recieve, the larger the possibilities that our problems will be heard. Like me living in an area where I dont have the luxury of choosing a phone line to use is why I am keeping my connection with smart Bro-ken for 1 1/2 years just to have an internet connection paying as high as dsl subscription but same or slower than dial-up connection.

Let our voices be heard, maybe this is our chance… So join me in my quest for smart to answer our questions whether their network cant handle the number of subscribers that they now have or they still dont have the proper technology to set-up a real wifi internet service just like in other countries.

Don’t pay your next bill!

As subscriber, we must have documents signed prior to application of smartbro. sa tingin ko naman wala, meron ba sa inyo?

Di ba kayo nagtataka Smart Gold subcriber– they filter the applicants. baki kaya dito sa smartbro, hindi. basta process ka lang don sa cashier, wait for 2-3 days to have your internet connection.

Sa akin, the next day kabit agad….

Regarding the application…… sa tingin ko lang wala talagang formal agreement with this from smart to its subscriber…….. ano ba pinagkaiba na Smart Gold subscriber sa atin…. we are both postpaid subscriber of a certain service.

To cut it short….. wala habol ang smart kung di man tayo magbayad ng bill…

Tapos me new service offer ang ibang network…… cheaper pa at me phoneline….

Regarding don sa bill, Disconnection– states that at least one bill payment is missed. yeah! totoo, you’ll lost your connection after few days of your due date once you missed paying.

But to tell you guys, its very easy to reconfigure and get a new IP…… after few minutes you can continue your browsing…

Tapos isa pa guys….. this is a networking connection… thats why some of us shares the same IP. thats irony kasi as third world country… large% of the IP owned and assigned only to US and some countries… kaya patok ang networking…..

Basta….. once you are discontented with the service, don’t pay your bill… you’re just letting them fool you.

Ask me how to reconfigure your connection… and i will help you in anyway i can.

God Bless us all!

Smartbro Hack

Nov 23, 2006 Author: xjhay | Filed under: Smart Wifi News, Technical Advice

I just want your opinion guys… i just found one hack for Smartbro…

I’m asking for your opinion:

a.) I’m going to let the Smartbro engineers know about the hack and ask for some reward.
b.) I’m going to spread the hack to everybody via email or just post it here.

Just trying to be nice here…

Some point about the hack… as long as you have the canopy CPE antenna you can use the smartbro services… for free…
well… this is what I’m using now…

thats it for now…

New Application

Oct 24, 2006 Author: carlo22x | Filed under: Smart Wifi News

I applied in Smart Bro service today, aba 2 minutes lang meron ng payment reference number and asking me to pay na ung P999.00 initial cash out. Ayos noh, ambiles ng approval pero ang speed hinde. I applied just for redundancy, pag down ang globelines broadband at least meron kahit na 80kbps hehehe, mabilis pa ung SMART 3G eh, i use that before through my Nokia N70 and un walang problema, I get around 400 - 500 kbps.

Un lang wla lang, share ko lang :)

Customer Feedback: Lately, there had been many bad comments about Smart Bro’s, Especially on this website: http://www.smartwifi.org.ph There should be an action done about it, because if their rants grow, maybe it would become very bad for your company and us users too. Please take care of many of your subscriber’s problems, which include a not-very-technical support, no NAT port forwarding support and peak rates that make Smart Bro’s average speed become somewhere along the 128kbps line. We know you can do it.

It’s a pretty good reply, not like the in-your-face reply the untechnical support guys/gals do. So maybe now you guys can maybe send some feedback directly to smart too, instead of, uhm… planning behind their backs…

Maybe we can start by suggesting that they start a forum, that answers customer concerns and problems especially about setting up NAT for maximum bittorrent efficiency( i use BT to download software too! especially those giant sources for linux :) ), the sluggishness of it sometimes, why sometimes the thing just won’t start, etc.

I haven’t suggested it yet though, maybe some of you guys can, I’m at loss of words right now. Just remember to be courteus, know that you are talking to a real human being with feelings and anything you say has direct consequences, and to know your position relative to theirs. I mean ‘mura’/curses won’t cut it because it will just put them on the defensive, because it’s a personal attack against their humanity. Doing that might get us closer to our goal of a better wi-fi connection, or at least we tried…

Smart Padyak

May 20, 2006 Author: yuga | Filed under: Smart Wifi News

Smart Communications, in promoting their new service Smart Bor has recently innovating a new service called Smart Padyak (Smart Pedalling):

Smart hopes to make Internet access more widely available, a Philippine mobile telecommunications operator is experimenting with the use of sidecar-equipped bicycles to deliver wireless Internet access.

The bicycles, known locally as “pedicabs,” are equipped with sidecars, and are normally used as a means of public transportation.

In lieu of passengers, the sidecars of specially equipped pedicabs instead carry a desktop computer and a wireless antenna that connects to the cellular network of telecom firm Smart Communications.

Smart runs a fixed wireless Internet service, called Smart Bro, on it cellular network.

The computers, however, must still be connected to regular power outlet to function, Ramon Isberto, Smart public affairs head, said.

He said that the experiment, called “Smart Padyak” (Smart Pedaling) is underway in Cebu and some parts of Metro Manila.
