Misfortunes of Smart Wifi and Smart Bro Customers
***past
The tropical cyclone “MILENYO” wrecked my wifi/bro connection.
I called the *1888 *3888 1800-10-6727277.
I also made reports of it online .
I even visited a wireless center.
All they can tell me:
Ma’am update po natin…
Ma’am check po natin…
Ma’am wait for 24 hours…
I’ve had so many 24 hours wasted…

Since typhoon milenyo struck, my internet at home has been down. Since then, I could not get in touch with Smart bro hotline. Last time I did, it tool more than 30 minutes after going through with their Beethoven symphony while on hold.
Funny thing is, even their contractors who visited me last week couldn’t get in touch with their technical hotline. They replaced the antenna but could not bring my connection up. I was told I would get a call on the next schedule for a visit. That was last week.
If Smart is reading this, I would like to have this thing disconnected entirely. The facility at home is just giving false hopes I would ever be connected. I am now looking for alternatives. 2 weeks down may be joke to them. But I’m not laughing.

I cut my subscription to the pathetic (just being nice) Smart WiFi/Bro some months ago. I now have the antenna and the network cable still running from my roof towards our window; not a nice sight!
If anyone wants to get this antenna, you are welcome to do so but you have to get it from the roof (medyo mataas). Alternatively, can anyone suggest another use for this antenna, if there is? Definitely, though, the network cable is still usable. Thanks!

It’s almost two weeks now that I lost my internet connectivity. Thanks to Smart Bro!. I’ve been giving thier tech support a ring, wait for 20 mins+ for a tech rep to answer my call, and they’ll just make you a report number. Two weeks I’ve been doing this. I have 4 friggin’ report numbers, and they haven’t made an action! It’s either something’s wrong with the friggin’ base station or they’ll promise you a support team will fix the problem given 24 hours of lead time they advised me.
I went to a nearby Wireless Center two days ago to make a follow up, same response over the phone, though, I get to talk to a tech rep in real life. Yey!
I’m planning to shift to Globe’s 512 kbps service (same fee w/ Bro) plus one-year free voice service.
I just dialled *1888 (Smart Bro Tech Support), waited for 12.3 mins to be precise (faster response compared to the latter. Yey!), and they gave me another report number. As expected… *sighs* hopeless case.

Hey guys, i’ve been a subscriber of SmartBro since Sept 22, 2006. Everything went smoothly until after Milenyo hit. I haven’t been online for a little over a week now!! It’s crazy, i’m telling you, plus, i’m a web designer… so it really is a hassle! Anyway, i would like to know if any of you are from Mandaluyong (like me), and if you are also having difficulties having a connection. I live in San Francisco St. near Maysilo circle. Please lemme know… if you don’t have signal. I’ve been trying to get through their hotline, but its verrrry busy.
Text me at 09179049197 if you are experiencing the same problems…

Hi!
I’m just one of those unsatisfied customer.. Just got SmartBro connected yesterday (Sept 23) and sobra pagka dismaya ko… AS IN AMP!! Anticipated ko na inde nya ma re-reach ang 384kbps, but after activation nung account ko and tried the speed, the HELL, i’ve got only 60-80kbps… I’ve asked the contractor about the signal and sinabi, wala po ka ing alam jan, complain na lng kayo through phone kase wala daw problema sa mga signals ko (RSSI, etc.).. Sabi ko “eh OK nman pala signal bakit ganyan ang speed, konti na lng dial-up na eh.”.. (Im from North Springville Molino Bacoor)… Wala lang talagang slot ang Globelines sa area namin kaya ako napilitan sa Service nila, I’m expecting na kahit 150-200 kbps lang talo talo na, kaso wala eh… And sobrang sisi ko talaga, I used to have MyDSL sa manila, and getting 550kbps (lagi yan), and download rate of 50-60 kbps…
(HE”S DAMN LUCKY!!) Is 60-80kbps speed is enough to terminate this damn service?? Kahit daanin sa legal? Grabe kase eh, imagine paying P999 for almost dial-up connection?? Eh ang prepaid makakakuha ka ng 100 for 8 hours (at least tanggap ko kahit mabgal, dial-up eh), but not with this thing they’ve called “BROADBAND…” Sabagay, if your speed is above 56kbps, then its the time they will call it “BROADBAND”… AMPUPU, nadagdagan lng ng 4kbps BROADBAND NA!!… Well, sana naman they’ve excluded sa Contract ung mga inde satisfied sa service nila.. Ano sila hilo, pagbabayarin nila ang subscribers ng hindi satisfied sa service, as in HINDI SATISFIED… Subscribers has a right to demand for their satisfaction.. And sana naman, wag na nila pa exhaust ung mga troubleshooting nila kase most of subscribers are doing their best to improve their own connection…
For Smart employees/personels,
TRY TO PUT YOURSELF ON CUSTOMER”S SHOES, THEN YOU”LL KNOW HOW DOES IT FEEL. or better understand the “GOLDEN RULE….”

This is not a remedy but rather a suggestion….
Like you guys i used to have in frequent disconnection in smartBRO then a friend of mine told me something about the canopylite that we were using. that somehow the device has a flaw in its grounding system (the yellow wire on the device which is mounted on wall). so my friend said to cut that darn thing off… and so i did (warning: cutting this off… you will be unprotected from lightning strikes ’cause the yellow wire to the device acts as a lightning arrestor)… now i have no disconnecting problems anymore. about the speed of the smartBRO well it depends upon the base and how many are you connected to that base. ie if the base has a bandwidth of 1.5mbps only and a hundrend of you connect with the speed 256kbps well you do the math but for sure the answer is SLOW CONNECTION.
and if you tried my suggestion please post something so i will know how’d it come up… ![]()
