Happy Bro Ako

Jun 28, 2006 Author: Alvin_Miguel | Filed under: DSL/Broadband Reports

Pity you guys.. 1 year na me na Smart WiFi subs.. and to-date over 80GB of downloaded MP3s and Movies..etc na ang na-accumulate ko.

Indeed there are days/nights that you experience intermittent connection. But guys, didn’t you realize, or have you realized - it is WIRELESS. Same thing that happens sa mobile mo, low signal at times, lag ang text, noisy voice signal…

Same thing you might experience sa WiFi..

But mind you guys, happy ako.. In fact my PC is always on kase my household are hooked already sa PC ko…

We are able to talk to my bro in Alaska. Laking tipid kase YM voice and webcam.
Research are done sa google na.. Useless na books ng mga pamangkin ko.

My location: Paco-Pandacan Area.

So guys, chill! ok..
Think of the positive side…
Eto naman, 5mins lang kayo na-disconnect fuming mad na agad..
Syempre, birhtpains yan. New service pa lang in the philippines. Eh ano alternative niyo sa WiFi..
Sige nga…
Cool guys…

Alvin…

NAT error with Bittorrent

Jun 23, 2006 Author: geek | Filed under: Technical Advice

Hi

Anybody here know if Smart Wifi/Bro is able to do NAT (Name address translation) for Bittorrent?
This will make Bittorrent downloads consistent rather than high -> low -> high ….

I do know that PLDT is not able to do this because they have private LAN. How bout Smart?

Thanks

New Installed SmartBRO

Jun 23, 2006 Author: icenine | Filed under: Customer Complaint

Wala pa ko 1 month cgro pag nagaya ako sa inyo eh mangigigil din ako.

Scam kaya talaga???? Baka me reason naman kaya ganun??? Maybe yung nag install ng antenna nyo nangangamote o kaya mali yung na set sa canopy. Either way, Smart is still improving in its current state.

Lets give it a chance . Pero pag abuso, kasuhan na :D

Wikipedia Entry

Jun 21, 2006 Author: StriderVM | Filed under: Announcement

Actually, I was bored the last hour and so, and I’ve decided to add “Smart Wi-Fi” to Wikipedia!

I actually did think and wrote this in less than 10 minutes so it’s very probable that is has errors and such. So, if anyone has any contribution and/or correction to the article please to do. It may help the users who have problems with the service to get noticed. :)

Need help with your SmartBro??

Jun 19, 2006 Author: Warpath | Filed under: Wifi Information

Im a SmartBro Dealer and I sympatize with all your concerns.

As a marketer it is my duty to know the product so I applied for my own SmartBro to test the product!

And I am also a System Administrator. As a SysAd, its my duty to design, learn, and find how to improve network performance, and I’m sad to say that yung mga nagkabit ng mga antenna nyo — they haven’t got a clue as to what they’re doing!! Incompetent silang lahat!

If you want to trouble shoot your own antenna I’ll help you! Dahil pinagaralan ko na yung antennae nila, kahit tawagan nyo pa yung mga tao sa Smart wala silang magagawa.

Incompetent silang lahat, I was even applying to Smart so I could address all the Subscriber’s concern regarding the SmartBro product! Pero wala ehh, I was denied, if you guys need some help I’ll guide you on how to tinker with your Smart BRo antennae! Aight??

Help other Wifi Subscribers

Jun 16, 2006 Author: guksubokum | Filed under: Customer Complaint

Hi guys with tons of problems regarding smart wifi. I had a connection before located in Sta. Rosa.

The antenna was installed on the roof deck of a three storey building. And I can very well see the Smart cell site. You know what I still had problems same with you guys. So where do problems come from? Not our PC, Not our OS, Not our PC communications peripheral.

Regarding the 1year lock-in period….. I broke it without paying the remaining months.

You can too. Just insist on your ordeal with the connection.

A Nightmare Starts A Year Ago!

Jun 14, 2006 Author: neozoby21 | Filed under: Customer Complaint

Last June 15, 2005 Smart Communications launched SMART WIFI initially in provincial areas especially in Bacolod & Key Cities of Negros Occidental. Offering a new innovation in wireless internet and named it SMART Wifi (now SMART BOO o sorry smart bro i mean). Their enticing tarpauline ads where sprawling in the street lights of major roads of Bacolod City. promising a 128kbps for 788/monthly plan.

As a newbie in pc that time, I was so excited to have this wireless internet a try in our city, its 2hrs from bacolod yet doubting it might not be available there but Ive tried and became the first subscriber there but it took a month before they install from application date (contrary to there marketing enticement of only 4 days from application) then it was last week of july 2005 that I finally surf the internet using smart wifi after several calls from there super tech suport (where my love story to there tech support begin…of course you always call them when you need them…and then of course DO NOTHING! but report to their superiors!…same phrase, same words, same style of troubleshooting, same finale: “sir…gagawan po namin ‘to ng report…blah…mag hintay na lang kayo ng tawag…blah!”. then our favorite line: “kasi po my ongoing TECHNICAL ACTIVITY sa area nyo” that surprises me because those are still used till now, what only changes is the portal intro as smart bro).

Then the following months creeps a nightmare starts, like no connection for a month or so, frequent diconnections, low, as in very low speed. and an admiration to launch an attack to great tech support. until I get tired and sick of complaining that still nothing happens. want to terminate my plan but im locked-in and expires in august 2006 (finally its more than a month away). well I’m just a subscriber and I’m in the Philippines!? so dont have any power from a greedy “simply amazing” giant. So Ive just hope & and pray not only to improved service but we will be given justice to this, maybe not now but it will surely come. hope we will not see a “company” paying to there knees.

After almost a year as subscriber I hardly post anymore comments here and from yugatech before or even call them frequently (that doesnt mean their service are Ok now, a no no, they are still crappy) still thankful that here in our area we are still got better service than other areas that suffers more, we only have one base station here and maybe were not that many yet, and mpre one thing, I have few friends who ask and inquired to me about this service, and this is the only power I could and say to them: NO! NEVER SUBSCRIBE TO SMART WIFI/BRO! PERIOD!
